A Vivacious Pop-Rock Record From Penthouse

A massive new pop-rock release from Penthouse delivers upright and vibrant Sonic presence that feels free, breezy, and packed with character from beginning to end which makes the whole thing really connective.

The Suite Life EP is full of surprises and as you go deeper into the record you get these colorful vibes that let the whole record just feel alive and breathing and on top of that, the presence this band has in general is just beaming the entire time.

These songs are super catchy a lot of the time and in between those catchy hooks that sit bouncing around in your head for hours or even days after the songs have ended, you get these vivacious riffs and lush vocal harmonies that leave no empty space to the record whatsoever.

This is definitely a feel-good record, and you get an array of rock undertones throughout its course even an acoustic pop song that feels so radio-friendly it seems like you've heard it before.

The biggest thing about this record is it's got loads of heart and that energy between the players and the band is killer to the point where it feels like maybe they recorded this live on the floor.

Of course, I could be totally wrong about the whole live-on-the-floor recording thing, but it makes you want to see them live.

I don't think it's easy to capture that kind of energy on a record the way that these guys do it and you can hear all these different influences coming in and out of the record that range everywhere from that pop-rock vibe but also singer-songwriter, folk rock, and classic rock as well.

One of my favorite things about this whole thing is the guitar work because by the time you get to the 3rd of 4th song you start to understand that you can expect the unexpected for certain aspects of this record and the guitar work is one of those aspects.

For example, the last track on the record has this southern kissed slide guitar feel going on in you just didn't expect that to happen but when it does it makes perfect sense with the rest of the record.

This is because the record and this band have heart.

That's one of the most powerful things about the whole release and that persona sticks strong from start to finish.

There are a few singles that stick out to me very much so, but this is the type of record that you want to listen to as a whole so that you can really soak it all in because it is almost like a concept record.

These songs feel like they connect with each other and each of them tells a little bit of a story.

You have to love records like this because you can really just escape into it for a moment in time and forget about your reality which is something I've missed in music for quite some time, to be honest.

This has a wonderfully youthful vibrancy to it but it also has a maturity and songwriting that makes everything so well-rounded and familiar.

It's a very welcoming record and it feels good to listen to.

This was a solid 8 out of 10 to say the least and anyone who enjoys bright and genuine pop rock with layers to it, then this is definitely for you.

Excellent record.
