A single from black Vatican brings out a dark and Gothic edged soundscape that leans on a cinematic backbone and delivers a lush character and mix of influences all letting the song Hit with this dark and addictive tonality.
"Vampiric Waltz" has the ability to wrap itself around you and keep you right where it wants to all with this Lush and haunting soundscape that does indeed have This Waltz feel to it that comes right along with deepening but animated vocals and those are accompanied by a second set of more operatic feeling vocals as well.
Between all of this you get such a vastness in the track that builds this sort of atmosphere that you fall right into, and it feels like you're watching the scene of an old horror movie from the 1970s or early '80s.
I'm not sure that that's what they were going for, but it certainly gives me that Vibe and I absolutely adore it because I grew up watching this totally get where this track is coming from.
This was built with a rock undertone because it's got that heavy rock edge, but it also has these keys that deliver the main Rhythm of the waltz itself and that is where the song sounds a bit orchestrated and becomes more cinematic.
All of this makes the song completely addictive and really fun, but you also get elements of these screaming hardcore and metal vocals and its undertone that come through in certain sections of the song adding more to the blend of influences that inspired this track to be.
Now, when I say that I don't mean the theme of the song itself what I mean is how they took different influences musically and blended them together to create something that was kind of refreshing and a little bit new.
This was melodic but heavy with that metal Foundation but mixed in so much other elements that live in a world outside of just rock music in general.
To me this even sounded very theatrical almost like watching the scene of a play that uses heavier music.
It's got that aesthetic to it that brings out a very particular sort of sound because they're blending these textures and these influences together and it's delivered with an amazing energy almost like it is an actual live performance. After listening to this track, I had to check out some more from the band and so I did and I'm glad too because, I was pleased to listen to a slew of releases starting in 2015 on their Spotify page.
This was enormously fun because they do have particular themes to what they release, and they always do still have a certain kind of staple feel to their music, but you can hear their evolution as a band from then until now and that was some of the more fun parts of it in general.
They have a few other tracks released since this one and I got all kinds of great classic Hard Rock vibes from them, but it still felt cinematic for example, there's a track called "Night of Maleficium" that felt to me like the soundtrack of a horror film from the '80s.
Cool band that has a real unique aesthetic and that whole aesthetic is completely nailed from beginning to end. Check this track out when you can and then take a deep dive into their previous releases because it's well worth your time especially if you're into a sort of Hard Rock theme because these guys nailed it.
