Not Dead Yet returns with a massive pop-rock banger that hits with an impactful and electric energy that is coded in pop melody, harmonies, and a fierce guitar tone that gives everything The Edge that it needs to push the envelope just enough to hit that classic thrash punk vibe.
"Filthy Rich" is an extremely excitable track and is built off of such an outstanding arrangement that has hooks naturally built into it along with a thick and robust soundscape and set of instrumentation that includes everything from those banging guitars through the horn sections that give everything that touch of color and brings in those elements of Ska and its undertone.
Now, we're no strangers to Not Dead Yet and I can certainly tell you that these guys never let us down especially if you are a fan of pure, wholehearted, bright, and powerful punk rock with a pop punch that keeps you coming back for more.
One of the things I adore most about this band is that energy because it lets them thrive and you could tell they're not really holding anything back and they're just simply being themselves in the best way they know how, through their music.
These guys already have released four singles and a killer EP, all of which have something excellent to offer.
This new track is absolutely no exception to that rule and certainly does a great job of letting the band's vibrant and unstoppable love for the craft shine.
One of the things that always gets me with these releases is the sheer fact that their production is so good. Everything is completely well-balanced dynamically and even though a lot is going on with guitars, multiple vocals or sometimes even crowd vocals, horn sections, drum slamming, and so much more, a hell of a punch on top of that.
There's something about being able to mix a track like this so that everything comes through with the same bounce that it was intended to have and whoever was responsible for mixing in this track did an outstanding job because this has all the color and impact, fun and edginess.
This is the kind of track that you can jump around your living room to without question and this is what we need from good, wholehearted, honest, pop punk.
Being able to release songs that have a message behind them but also have a lot of fun doing their thing is really important in music.
Not Dead Yet does an amazing job of nailing this aesthetic, and whenever you hear their music, you just want to see them live.
Not only do I suggest checking this track out and turning a nice and loud but checking out their whole back catalog including their previous single "Sunset City" has this one is a massive Soiree of punk as well.
Check this track out right now.
