Jordan Gaffney Drops a Fresh Banger

A new single release from Jordan Gaffney delivers a very particular drive and tonality with guitar tones and even bass tones that create a massive fuzz and this adds to the particular energy that the track actually gives off, but it also is all delivered with a certain kind of character that you end up really latching on to and enjoying.

"Kevin's Time" does indeed have an energy to it almost like a live performance in a way and that bit of vivaciousness really lets the song hit hard in its own style.

Even the vocals have a bit of fuzz tone distortion over them which all just adds to that edginess the song delivers but through all of that it's still super catchy and the bass line bops and let the song become really groovable and danceable while it's still packing that punch.

As soon as the track starts off, you'll find yourself bobbing your head along with it and by the end of it you'll probably be singing along with it but again it's got a very particular approach and hits a sort of mix of indie rock, garage rock, a classic fuzz Rock that all has a way of filling your head sonically.

I love that combination of edginess and distortion and that color and character as well because when you walk away from the song, a few hours later you'll find yourself kind of listening to it in your head even though it's not playing out loud anymore.

The only way to satiate something like that is to go and listen to it again and for me that just says smart song writing however, for Jordan I think it's just the way he puts songs together naturally.

There are few really fun surprises around the corners like this sort of organ sound that comes in and out and sections of vocals that feel like they're rambling on in a sort of rant which again just adds to this slightly over the top and crazy energy that the song packs in but all of that is part of the aesthetic of the track and it becomes very addictive.

Now, I'm not sure if Jordan is the one that plays everything or performs every single instrument, but I know that he writes the stuff and he's the lyricist in the vocalist so I can only imagine how much fun it must have been to record a track like this and I do indeed feel like when Jordan is in his little bubble recording wherever that is, he's in his owner is happy place and this is why you get a song like this one with much fewer boundaries around it than the norm.

A song like this is very catchy and it appeals to anyone who loves garage rock or indie rock of course, but also has elements of alt pop and throughout all that driving over time, you have a very well arranged and written song that layers in experimental tones and just really has fun.

Any kind of art form that's made without walls built around it not conformed to a certain set of socially idealistic settings, is some of the best art that's created.

This is a perfect example of exactly that because it has a freedom to it where Jordan is just basically doing what he wants to do.

I definitely love the vibe that this song gives off and the way that he's able to take the feeling of a sort of scattered mindset and build it all into this rock single that also has an electric energy and makes you want to go see a perform live right in your face.

A lot of great and grungy tones throughout the song give it a punchy feeling and I'm listening to it I took a little bit of a deep dive into Jordan Gaffney's back catalog on Spotify and I'm certainly glad that I did because I found a handful of other singles along with an EP from this year as well that is outstanding.

A lot of his releases show different sides to how he actually writes his songs and to his personality as well, so I strongly suggest checking out some of his other music too.
