A beautiful new release from Galan Trio and Zacharias Tarpagkos delivers a set of warm tones and gorgeous soundscapes that each take shape with a graceful performance.
The Embrace release spans 14 tracks, and each one puts you in a particular headspace with Piano, Violin, and Cello; three of the most beautiful instruments you can have.
The trio performs songs created by classical composers from seven different nations and the Greek performers take note of emotion, passion, and love for their craft, giving something that you want to hold on to.
You can feel the emotional pull on a lot of these songs and depending on where you're at, they can indeed put you in a particular headspace.
There are beautiful harmonies and melodies strewn throughout the entire record and some of them can really engulf you in this cinematic and lush atmosphere. You have incredible flute sections and solos that really either flutter and bounce or grab you with intensity in the melodic performances which plenty of will get stuck in your head for days after you listen to this record.
The way the performers work together is absolutely gorgeous and the textures of each instrument feed into each other giving you layers of beauty that help build that atmosphere and each piece of music has a breathing sensation to them.
The trio was formed in 2012 with three Greek soloists including violinist Demetra Triantafyllou who was replaced by Babis Karasavvidis in 2018, cellist Marina Kolovou, and pianist Petro Bouras.
When the three decided to play music together, I'm sure they quickly realized they had something special.
This is an album that you want to soak in from beginning to end because there are such unique sets of moods, approaches, and again, beautiful layers of atmosphere, texture, and harmony that it all has a strangely welcoming sensation to it.
This is a trio made up of expert musicians who deliver that passionate performance with each piece of music they record and play.
I suggest listening to this record with headphones on. This way you can soak in everything that it offers. It's a big record, but if you put on those headphones close your eyes, and lean back. Each track will take you to a completely different place and that to me is a beautiful thing.
This is one of the more engaging sets of pieces that I've heard in a while and I love the compositions because they play out the way you want them to or better than how you would expect.
When it comes to beautiful classical pieces like this, you want them to take you away from wherever you are and whatever you're doing and that's exactly what this album does.
It is a bountiful escape as the pieces of music give you something that sticks with you.
This is one of those albums that puts you in the moment almost like you're watching a live performance.
The resignation of the violin, and the intensity of the flute along with the deepening tones of piano and cello all give you something slightly different, but together, it becomes this enticing and alluring experience.
Listen to this record from beginning to end, and again, do so with headphones on because it's not something you want to miss especially if you're a fan of classical pieces.
Don't forget that this was originally created by classical composers from seven nations. From the UK, the United States, Portugal, Russia, and France, you have this influx of different inspirations and influences brought together by The human experience.
Freshly released from Neuma Records, take a deep listen to this one as soon as you can.
