A passionate and intense new single from Abdulhamit Bilimsel delivers raw honesty that comes from a genuine place. Still, it's also relatable to a lot of us, so I found myself immediately connecting with this track, simply because the way he puts everything lyrically is very straightforward but absolutely comes from the heart.
This is a bit of an intense track with a brilliant way of building up to a robust and impactful chorus that sits with you for days after the song has ended, and the only way to satiate that is to go and listen to it again.
The song is called "Silent Hope", and a lot of its intensity comes from the emotional backbone it was born from.
Abdulhamit certainly lets a lot of that inner thought and feeling come spilling out for all to soak in, making the song vulnerable but powerful at the same time.
This is not only powerful simply because you connect with the sentiment of it, but also because of the way it is performed.
The song surrounds itself with a sort of contemporary pop overtone, and right off the bat, you start to get this essence of an orchestrated and cinematic push because of the instrumentation and how it's all performed.
After a boisterous intro with beautiful melodies and lush instrumentation, it exhales down to the verses where it becomes stripped to piano and vocals in its Essence.
This is where you start getting the story of it all.
Now, each listener may interpret the song a little differently, but for me, the sentiment and message behind it were loud and clear.
For me, the song was about learning to love yourself and how the path to doing that can be a rough one.
Abdulhamit sings about heartbreak, loss, sadness, and a whole other range of emotions that come with either losing a loved one or being betrayed by one.
Through that path and journey, you find yourself, and when you do, you learn to love yourself.
It's about not relying on someone else's love, but instead, relying on your own.
Being your own best friend, knowing who you are, and being empowered by all of that.
This is such a heavy-handed message, and it's delivered with a bright and brilliant sonic presence.
By the time the verse leads into the pre-chorus, a beautiful string section starts coming in, giving even more of that cinematic and full-bodied approach, and pushing the musical side of emotion further.
It's quite amazing how the music and instrumentation beautifully display such a powerful mood that lines up with the lyrics so well.
The string sections are brilliant and perform gorgeous melodies. It's about this time that you start hearing some light percussion coming in alongside some other instrumentation, all leading up to that big and memorable chorus.
The chorus is definitely the hook of the track and does a damn good job at that. It wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to with that high level of intensity but also that honesty of self-reflection that, again, is incredibly understandable, relatable, and connective.
You can tell that there was a lot of attention paid to the composition and arrangement here. All the little details are accounted for in terms of bringing together all these different kinds of natural tones to build that climactic chorus and really pull you in.
Along with violins, you have some brilliant saxophone and other instruments that give the song warmth and depth. This is not a one-layer track. The song has many layers to it, and the way it works is really wonderful.
What I mean by that is, the song sort of engulfs you, right from the start. You get sucked into the melodies and intensities of it, then the vocals come in and start delivering passionate performances with beautifully woven melodies, and the song only builds bigger and bigger from there.
So this track has such a unique way of swallowing you up and taking you for this little journey, and eventually you end up getting washed away with it all.
The whole thing about this single is that as it goes through that emotional roller coaster, you still understand that they're actually is a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel.
Yes, you get to a place of trusting and loving yourself by sometimes going through very difficult situations, heartbreak, or Worse.
However, once you get to that place and you start understanding yourself better, loving yourself more, and get that sense of freedom, it is very positive.
That is a bright light, and just because it was difficult to get there doesn't mean it wasn't worth it.
So, this was quite a single, blending cinematic and orchestrated, emotionally robust approaches, tones, textures, and soundscapes, all fitting together like puzzle pieces and taking you along for the ride.
This is certainly a track you don't want to miss.
Upon listening to the single I took a little bit of a deep dive into his back catalog and I found some amazing tracks including a song called "A Sip of Life", released earlier this year, which showcase a little bit of a different side of how he writes his music with a very colorful sort of pop driven brightness, and still delivering the same level of passion and impactful aesthetic.
Abdulhamit is most certainly an artist who puts pieces of himself into his music, and upon realizing this, I realized I wanted to find out more.
So, while you listen to the single and others, have a read through of our interview with Abdulhamit below.
Let’s talk about "Silent Hope"! This song was beautifully crafted with such intensity and cinematic undertone! Where did this track come from?
Silent Hope did not come from melody first — it came from meaning. I approached this piece as a writer rather than a singer. The song was built around a central idea: the kind of hope that exists even when nothing visibly improves. It’s cinematic because it was written like a scene, not a song — a moment suspended between despair and endurance.
’m hearing a few different approaches to this song! Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
My influences are not limited to musicians. Literature, philosophy, cinema, human behavior, and language itself play a much bigger role. Writing songs in seven different languages has taught me that meaning changes shape, but truth remains constant. I’m influenced by anything that respects depth.
Did you record this at a home setup, or at a big studio?
For me, the physical space is secondary. The real “studio” is the conceptual space where words, emotion, and sound meet. Whether recorded in a home setup or a professional environment, what matters is that the idea remains untouched and uncompromised.
How did this all start for you as an artist?
It started with writing. Long before music, I was trying to understand people, life, and contradiction through words. Music later became a vessel — a way to carry language into another dimension. I don’t create songs to be sung; I create them to be understood.
Are you performing live right now?
Live performance is not my priority. My focus is on authorship and creation. I believe not every artist needs a stage — some need space to think, write, and build worlds that others can enter.
Now that this is out, what’s next for you?
This release is part of a larger body of work. I’m continuing to write across multiple languages, exploring new narratives and perspectives. Each piece is connected — not by sound alone, but by intent.
Who’s in your headphones right now?
Often, nothing. Silence allows meaning to surface. When I do listen, it’s usually film scores, experimental music, or spoken word — anything that leaves room for thought.
What would you tell people they can expect on this release?
They can expect depth, not entertainment. This is not background music. It asks the listener to slow down, to interpret, and to meet the work halfway.
Before we go, what would you like to express to fans of the music?
If you find your own meaning in this work, then it belongs to you now. I don’t offer answers — I offer spaces where questions can exist honestly.
