A Warm and Nostalgic New Single from Vague Notion

A new single release from Vague Notion brings out a contemporary pop undertone with hints of vintage soundscapes and a sentimental, almost warming approach that delivers a character you almost immediately want more of.

"Back In the Day" it's a beautiful song with a lot of honesty delivered right from the get-go so it pulls you in straight away and you know that it's coming from a genuine place from experiences that actually happen, and this makes the song all the more authentic.

The song is musically lush with this classic beat and synth pads that sort of swell giving it an atmospheric undertone and between the vocal sections there are flute performances that adds such a cool layer to the song texturally and the actual delivery on the flute is so good and also has so much gusto and vibrancy to it that it actually matches the song pretty much perfectly.

There's some great experimental sections and the production is slightly outside the box which I actually adore, and it just has such a wonderful way of wrapping itself around you and keeping you right where it wants to because you're getting wrapped up in the music but you're also getting yourself attached to the lyrics.

The whole thing has a strangely nostalgic appeal and one of the things that really add to that is the music video that accompanies the single because it also pushes not only the premise of the song and the point of the song, but it also showcases some of the presence the song boasts as well.

This was clearly a passion project and that's the kind of thing that makes you fall in love with it so quickly.

This track has such a unique and subtle sort of energy that's calming in a certain way because she's telling a story and she's pulling that story from her own life so you're getting to listen to a certain kind of chapter in the songwriter's actual existence and that's something that's kind of beautiful because she's giving you a piece of herself.

I only say this because it works so well here, and you don't get that very often so when you do it kind of feels refreshing.

Again, this certainly does have a sort of contemporary pop vibe, but it also features little lounge, a little jazz, and a bit more that are all kind of rolled up into this one song so that you get surprising elements and a certain soundscape that quickly becomes the staple feel of the song.

This release certain has a lot of appeal for anyone that is looking for a song that can make you think or feel and for me if you don't watch the video, it causes memories of your own to pop into your head so not only is it relatable, but it feeds into your own psyche in a strange way.

This was colorful and wonderfully woven with a warmth and a certain kind of heart that makes it so genuine that you can't look away.

Check this song out when you get a chance and we've gone ahead and embedded the music video below so you can check it out this way as it's one of the best ways to do it the first time around.
