A Thrashing New Single from Relentless Aggression

A single release from Relentless Aggression delivers a high impact and thrashing metal soundscape that blends elements of classic punk into the mix and along with that not only comes in unstoppable energy but also a sort of character that you end up holding on to throughout the track.

The song is called "The Absolute Pointlessness of Everything" and it was absolutely no time jumping right at you with fierce and aggressive riffs that hit super hard, a guitar tone that brings tons of drive to this track, and drumming that destroys with a super tightness and an incredibly hard-hitting approach.

One of the things I really love about this track is that it brings together several different metal subgenres from sort of hardcore breakdowns, to thrash and punk to melodic metal, and it's all rolled up into one massive and fiery track that is indeed relentless.

The guitar tracks are doubled up so everything sounds super full and the drums, for the most part, have that punk rock feel and style, and then there are breakdowns which are the parts that bring that heavier metals and hardcore approach, and there are some very cool parts that follow the main ref and it sounds almost like a Dick Dale surf rock part which was cool but it was done in more of a Slayer way.

The vocals are just as impactful as the music is and certainly add a great layer of edginess and power to the song itself and the entire thing hits like a sucker punch to the gut.

The thing that got me about this song was the energy because it almost felt like the song was recorded live-on-the-floor to an extent and everyone involved was just feeding off of each other the entire time giving the song this supersonic drive.

Now, I could of course be completely wrong about the whole live-on-the-floor recording aspect, but either way, listening to this track makes you want to see them perform it live in your face because if the energy is captured this well on record, then seeing them live must be a face-melter.

This whole track was just a blitzkrieg of thrash metal and punk at its hardest and heaviest and it felt awesome to listen to because this is the kind of song that you can feel in your bones.

Upon listening to this track, I took a little bit of a deep dive into the band's back catalog and I'm glad that I did because I came across a few singles and a full-length album for 2021 which all deliver the same intensity and fierceness that this single does.

This was a super fun band to follow the evolution of and how they changed a little bit from back then up until now.

They're definitely tighter and a little bit more in your face.

Having said that, every song by Relentless Aggression is super worth listening to especially if you love really good metal.

I grew up on the East Coast listening to everything from Slayer to Sick Of It All and these guys cover all the bases believe me.

Check out this single first, and then backtrack through their catalog, and don't be afraid to turn it up because the louder goes the better it feels.
