A New Single from Jack Robson Showcases an Honest Character

A new single release from Jack Robson is a faith-based single that comes through with a very warm undertone but also has an amazing level of honesty that gives it personality and character as well, so you end up sort of getting attached to that while the song itself is cinematic and vast musically.

"This Is What He Does (24)" is a song about Jesus and how the belief in him makes you feel free in a certain way.

If you pay attention to the lyrics they can get very descriptive but also emotionally driven so all the lyrics are based on these inner thoughts that come out and yes, although it is faith-based, it also does have a lot of Jack's actual personality in there as well.

I find it alluring when you have a single that delivers a piece of the artist so you know it's coming from some authentic place. A belief in Christ is something very genuine and you can hear that passion in the performance and that soul that comes out in the vocals especially.

This is a beautiful song that has an expansive feel to it and is performed in a contemporary singer-songwriter approach with acoustic guitars, these drifting synth pads that float around to the ether of the song, and there are these elements of percussion that come in, and out but what's really amazing about this is the way that it's arranged to put together.

Yes, there is a chorus of course, and verses, but its arrangement lets the song feel sort of alive and breathing with these swells and sways of emotional drive.

This gives it a different vibe and this is the strongest element to me.

The song is extended and does indeed breathe. It inhales and then it exhales slowly so it lets you soak in all the emotion and all that inner thought and feeling that comes along with the lyrics of the song.

It's not rushed. It's balanced and lets you drift right alongside it.

Now, when I say something like cinematic, what I mean is that musically, the song has that big and again, sort of vast underbelly to it and because of that in combination with the emotional drive that it boasts, it feels cinematic as if you can hear this in the scene of a film or a show.

I really adore this aspect of the track as well and that can also be attributed to these synth pads and notes that are hovering around the song and adding more of a lush backbone to it.

That's the kind of thing that adds to that emotion and builds on everything.

The vocals are amazing here. They get more intense as the song plays on so by the time you get towards the end everything is very big and much more intensified than how it started.

You also have a very particular style mix to this track that also has a hand in that cinematic and emotional buoyancy.

The mix of this track is brilliantly done because there are different kinds of reverb effects on different instruments and the vocals throughout the song so everything has a wetness to it. Everything feels a little bit distanced and that reverb effect is used with different styles and different depths throughout the song.

This makes the whole thing feel much more massive and it also helps that build to where it gets to that final chorus and everything is super intense.

All in all, this was a gorgeous single and it was performed with a lot of heart. I cannot help but love a song that delivers honesty, a little bit of character, and a lot of heart.

I think when it comes to songs like this, we can feel something from it.

We all need music that makes us think and makes us feel. As a matter of fact, I think a lot of us can use more of that right now.

Either way, this is a song you listen to with headphones on so you can soak in everything that's happening. That emotion, that dreamy and expansive undertone, the layers of textures, the notes that float around through the atmosphere, all of this needs to be heard and the best way to do it is with headphones on because then all of the music of it swims around in the air that surrounds you and it becomes beautiful.

It is very easy to get engulfed and then washed away with this track and I loved every second of it.
