A New Rock Single from Old Eastern Has Arrived

A new release from Old Eastern brings out a deep fuzz tone rock banger that hits with a cross of desert, garage, and even alternative rock all rolled into one fat track that feels expansive and vast in its undertone all delivered with a robust and sort of colorful approach and character that you end up getting really attached to quickly.

The second you put on "Medusa" you're automatically addicted to this sort of slightly dirty fuzz riff that gives you the rhythm of the track and the drumming follows suit with such a great and personality-riddled performance, but it all comes together and creates a sort of atmosphere that you end up falling right into.

This single gives off such massive influences and its underbelly and each one of those influences has ways of peeking out but what really hits hardest is this crazy almost live performance-style energy that the track gives off where it's as if it was recorded live on the floor and each of the players were feeding off of each other the entire time.

The whole approach gives the song the feeling of being alive and breathing and by the time it gets to that first haunting but gigantic chorus, it feels pretty epic.

This track has that cinematic sort of backbone at certain points and that has more to do with that chorus and the way it sways and flows almost like water.

You go from this bopping single note style rhythm to these open cords and almost winding and bending vocals that do indeed give a haunt and this is what creates this almost edgy drive that the song ends up having.

It does have a very big feel to it, and I think one of the things that attracts you to the song is its actual sonic presence because of the guitar tones and the way everything is laid out especially.

The thing about a song like this is that the mix of it has a lot to do with how the full track comes through aesthetically, and a lot of people don't like to talk about mixes of songs in their reviews but for me, I feel like the mix of a song like this is incredibly important to the outcome of how the song feels in the end.

Everything here is so well balanced and there's a little bit of great work in terms of being able to blend the textures of those guitar tones along with the vocal harmonies and how they sway but also being able to keep the drums exactly where they need to be because the thing about the drumming is that it isn't just a boring drum beat.

The drumming for most of the song has a lot of fun fills and this is part of what gives this song a certain kind of looseness in a way even though it's all done super tight, it gives it that personality and that character, that color that ends up coming through in the song has a lot to do with how the drums are performed.

This is one of those songs where every single part of it not only compliments each other instrumentally but are imperative to how the song sounds in the end.

Again, there's something alive and breathing about this track and it's got electric energy and this robust sort of personality that lets the vocals feel sort of animated and makes you want to see them perform it live in your face.

This was a perfect balance of color, edginess, charisma, vigor, and vivaciousness, and not only was it danceable and fun but it hit with a great hint of heaviness in its tonality.

A killer track from Old Eastern that you should definitely turn nice and loud when you listen to it.
