A Lush Album Release From No Ordinary Fish

A new album release from No Ordinary Fish brings out a lush combination of indie rock and alternative rock that have a wonderous way of showcasing the band's presence and energy as the songs put out tons of character.

The Adverse Camber album is riddled with surprises around the corners and the band gives off a very particular energy that almost feels like the songs were partially recorded live on the floor because it's as if the players were feeding off of each other the entire time.

I absolutely love this feeling because it puts you right there in the moment for these songs and you find yourself paying attention to the lyrics as well as letting the music swim around in the air that surrounds you.

There's a lot of classic rock influence here as well and some of the guitar tones hit those vibes so authentically that the aesthetic is damn near perfect.

There are certainly plenty of tracks off of this record that stand on their own two feet as singles very well but there's something about the record that lets the songs connect to each other in a strange way almost like it's a concept record.

I could be wrong about that of course but these songs do have these stories to them and with each new track you find yourself digging a little bit deeper, so I feel like this is the type of record that you listen to from beginning to end in one shot.

Trust me, you can find the time and when you do it'll be worth it for you because the record is eight songs with quite a big finish at the end.

The vocals are so soulful that they can really become impactful a lot of the time and the vocalist is able to almost morph into whatever character is needed for the song which is outstanding as a singer.

The guitars often give off a lush and almost vast atmosphere at times and again, this record does reach into a harder-edged rock at certain points but also keeps you afloat at others.

By the time you get halfway through the record, you don't exactly know what to expect aside from that it's going to be good.

The thing about this record is that it's got a lot of character and persona to it and a lot of the performances are very gracefully done so it delivers a lot of layers that you can peel back.

This record has just as much color as it does edginess and with each song delivering its own soundscape you find yourself growing attached to it more and more the further into it you listen.

The songs can definitely have this soft and almost contemporary indie rock vibe happening and this is something that mostly remains very consistent throughout the album along with its additional subgenres and feels that it gives off.

You can definitely tell this was put together by a band that has a pure love for their craft and puts a lot into what they do but also gives these songs the feeling of being alive and breathing which is incredibly important because these aren't cookie-cutter tracks.

These songs have an energy to them that is undeniable and a way of letting you get wrapped up and washed away in the soundscape.

Definitely check this album out the minute you get a chance because you won't be disappointed and it's only about half an hour long.

I would give this an 8 out of 10 easily.
