Tom Springer is an indie rocker based in Boston. His songs combine witty rhymes, gritty guitars and low end rhythms drawn from reggae and hip hop. It’s rock and roll with an undertow. Tom started making music as a teenager, motivated by discovery of his parents’ record collections. He picked up the bass guitar and began playing and singing in various cover bands on the high school dance circuit in Princeton, New Jersey. He was inspired to begin writing and recording his own songs by local original acts like Regressive Aid and the Amerimen. Was there a rock star in the making at that moment? We’ll never know -- Tom decided to further his education, start a family and pursue a career in business. But the question remained in the back of his mind -- could he become an artist someday? Tom took his first step towards answering that question in 2013, when he decided to explore songwriting in earnest. Tom released his debut EP, Sun Come Out, in the following year. Since then, he has released two additional EPs and ten standalone singles. Tom plays out with the Tom Springer Band (see tomspringermusic.com/band for more information) and continues to write new music.
