The Treedome

The Treedome, a Latinx jazz-tinged indie quartet from Los Angeles formed in early 2023, is preparing to release their debut album this September. The ten tracks of the self-funded project were recorded in 10 days at New York’s legendary studio The Diamond Mine. The band worked with producer, mixer, and engineer Lucas Carpenter. The first single off the album “Why Do I Try?,” a track that embraces you with guitar melodies, trumpets, and more, was featured on Spotify's editorial playlists "Fresh Finds" and "Fresh Finds Indie.” The next single off the album “She Won’t Stay” is full of spark, groovy drums, and layers of guitar and organ. Two more singles, “Flutes” and “Over It,” will be released soon to prepare for the album release. Members Gabi Hernandez (vocalist, they/them), Cristopher Perez-Lopez (bassist, he/him), and cousins Melvin Zulca (guitarist, he/him), and Brian Sulca (drummer, he/him) are of Ecuadorian, Guatemalan, Salvadoran, and Mexican descent. These friends all share the same confidence and don’t hold on to the traditional ideology of their households. Their families expect them to go to college, and to work, but they are here to show that they’re more than that. Gabi, Cristopher, Melvin, and Brian are here to make music and are working to make their music careers a reality.
