Sherise Returns with a Massive Single

A new single release from Sherise brings out a vibrant and slightly edgy dance-pop soundscape that blends all kinds of outstanding synth and key textures to create an atmosphere that you don't want to leave, and it's all done with a heavy-handed character which is something you end up getting attached to very quickly.

"Breathing" is a track that clearly comes from someplace real which makes it very authentic but it's really her ability to create this sonically driving yet soothing soundscape flawlessly that grabs you.

One of my favorite aspects about this track is that it blends old and new school sounds together so at times you get vibes of a '90s underground dance and house style, but she also takes this fresh and current pop approach along with that and layers these sorts of soulful and almost ethereal vocals on top of all of it.

I love a song that has so much danceability and meshes color and edginess together so incredibly well but also comes through catchy and with such a bright pop overtone because you don't get things like that often.

It's also that character and persona that's delivered with this track that you end up letting wrap around you and this keeps you in the moment when you're listening to the song.

There's also this great ambiance in the song's underbelly as well that lets it feel vast along with this flare that gives it an electric energy so, it's sort of amazing to be able to have a song that is bursting with this sort of energy, but also has a smooth undertone to it because it all feels a bit freeing in a way.

Being able to blend these genres and bring in other subgenres into this track is a pretty powerful thing and it's not super surprising after we did a little digging on the artist because she's already in a claimed award-winning vocalist and has plenty of accolades under her belt along with a slew of original songs that each show a little bit of a different side of how she works as an artist and how she is as a person.

I think it's crucial to be able to give pieces of yourself with your music especially if you're an artist like Sherise because this shows that you have some deeper meaning behind the music to the point where it may even be cathartic. Still, it also shows that you're having fun with it.

This track showcases such an outstanding array of presents as an artist and really melts and men's textures together that let the song feel like it's alive and breathing.

I love the arrangement on this track because that's really what gives it that feel. Those swells and sways make a big difference in how the song comes across as does the mix of this track.

There are people that don't like to talk about the mix of songs in their reviews but for me personally, I love to at certain times because a mix makes a difference.

This track has a perfect mix and gives the song a robust and vast tonality while letting the artist show that personality and this track certainly lets Sherise shine.

Upon listening to this track, I took a bit of a deep dive into her back catalog and I'm glad that I did because there are a lot of amazing tracks released since 2019 that are so eclectic in songwriting range but also let you know that she could nail each individual style when she wants to.

Definitely an impressive track, check out "Breathing" when you can and see how it affects you.
