If you are not yet too familiar with the sounds of Rosa Skotte, then let us be among the first to introduce you as the Danish pop artist has just released a new single and video called "Solo Dancer" which brandishes are refreshing and stimulating approach.
The single it's beautiful and brings together a vintage and updated sound that you can definitely dance to throughout. The single follows her 2022 release called "Superstar" and you can hear a bit of her Evolution as an artist between the two tracks.
Both are outstanding but "Solo Dancer" feels a bit more personal in some way.
Her singing is ear-catching and the whole song has a way of feeling familiar and almost welcoming like you've been listening to it on the radio for a while now.
This is a fun, and upbeat dance banger but it's got this elegance to it too.
One of the things that had a heavy impact was the music video that accompanies the single.
The video has a lot of visually striking elements to it that draw your attention and keep it there.
The editing and cinematography of this video are outstanding, and you can tell there was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of both the song and the video to the point where perhaps the video was already something Rosa had in her head when she made the song itself.
It features kaleidoscope effects along with beautiful dancers doing ballet and different kinds of choreography that somehow fits in with the song perfectly because of that same sort of elegance.
The ballet dancer is Royal Danish ballet performer Emma Riis-Kofoed.
Watching the video is one of the best ways to listen to this single and once you do, I would suggest listening to some of her other releases as well.
You can then get a feel for who she is as a person and how she puts pieces of herself into her music all the time.
A lot of her material is personal and she does speak a lot of truth in the way that she knows how.
You can also hear that she's always had an amazing sort of pop overcoat to her music and plenty of R&B influence in the mix as well.
Any EP release called The Case Named Lovers features several singles that belong on radio and showcase more of that R&B and soulful side of her vocal approach.
After all of this, I will be paying a bit more attention to Rosa Skotte and her music. You might too.
