An upcoming release from Kanude has a way of giving off this descriptive and detailed scene that you end up being able to picture vividly in your head as the song plays through and along with that you get a warmth and it's all delivered with this sort of breezy indie rock approach that blends classic rock vocals in with edgy guitar hooks and it works beautifully.
"Rise" has an expansive element to it because it's got ambience and its undertone but also incorporates a little bit of electronica in with the indie rock soundscape which is part of one of the staple sounds that Kanude brings to the table and it's also why this track has such a unique color to it.
The synths that are incorporated with the rock really boast and push the envelope just a little bit more so he could bring the song to a place that has a bit of a bigger soundscape, and it works like a charm as the song comes through with a robust lushness but still smooth in its own way.
The more I listen to this track the more I enjoy that expansive undertone because you're able to get immersed in the music of it while also in the story of it because the song is telling a story and does indeed paint that picture of two people sitting on the beach staring at the ocean at the end of a party that has now cleared out and how he has been waiting for his time alone with this person throughout the whole party and now that they are together he's enjoying all the different aspects of this moment.
It is quite nice in terms of how it can pull you in and give you such a beautiful atmosphere and sentiment because it's very relatable for a lot of people.
I think we've all been there in one way or another.
So, it's got this great story to it, and it's portrayed so well lyrics are so detailed, but it also leaves enough room for your imagination to fill in the blanks almost like a good book.
The guitar tones are sonically perfect, and the track does have a great drive to it, but it also does have that smoothness that still feels calming and almost breezy which again beckons back to sitting on the beach at the ocean and how he incorporates that music to have the same vibe as the lyrics.
There is a great guitar hook that comes right along with the chorus and makes it whole in a way which is something that I have missed in rock music for quite some time I must admit.
A good chorus can be catchy and memorable if done right, but a lot of times rock doesn't have a lot of musical hooks the way it used to.
This track has a guitar part that runs through the chorus and gives it part of that breezy undertone but in an electrified way and that is a musical guitar hook is part of the chorus.
That is an important thing because in classic rock music we used to have it all the time and even in indie rock of the '90s.
This track definitely reminds me of both of those genres because it has the vocals that come through all full-bodied and harmonizing during those choruses with layers so that the atmosphere is just filled but it also has that little hint of edge in the guitars and that '90s indie rock underbelly that shows face during those courses even more.
A damn near perfect blend if you ask me.
"Rise" is set to release on the 12th of July on all major outlets but until then there's plenty more that you can listen to from the artist, and I suggest you do.
