Hypercube Delivers A Beautiful Set of Pieces

A new release from Hypercube Ensemble delivers a fun and very intricate soundscape with tenor saxophone, electric guitar, and piano delivering what feels like a living, breathing piece of music that takes you on different little Journeys.

The release is composed of two pieces of music, the first called "Hout" is a wonderful and exciting piece of music with these sorts of bursts of energy that give the song different elements of intensity throughout its course. What's awesome about this track is how the layers come together and feel almost like certain instruments are following other ones with a slight delay, so that you have this wet and expansive tonality to the composition itself.

Originally composed by Louis Andriessen, this is a piece of music that really hits a certain way simply because of how it's built. It's got those layers in an almost delayed form, so it leaves a trail of notes behind its every arm, and this is a unique approach that really gives it a certain kind of color.

"Hout" is a piece that was originally composed in 1991, and Hypercube Ensemble took this on with such vigor and attention to detail that it came through with a brightness and almost electrifying approach.

The second piece of music is called "The Force for Good", and this one is very dynamic and how it is approached and performed. It has these gorgeous melodies and a jazz undertone, and its influence as that tenor saxophone really takes the forefront a lot and gives the piece of music a very particular texture and tone that becomes addictive.

Both of these pieces have similar attributes at certain times, but they are also very different from each other.

"The Force of Good", composed by Michael Fiday who is actually a former student of Louis Andriessen and takes on such a brilliant approach to Bringing together that liveliness with a lot of jazz undertone, showing face.

It is a piece of music that is intricate and intelligent with a certain kind of complexity to its composition, and it's also one that breaks free of what you might expect and gives you some surprising elements and progressive turns.

Hypercube consists of Erin Rodgers on tenor sax, Jay Sorce on electric guitar, Andrea Lodge on piano, and Chris Graham on percussion. A group that surely showcases a love for their craft.

Both of these pieces are well put together, and Hypercube Ensemble does an outstanding job with their dynamic performances and energy on these songs, making sure that the aesthetic and feel, mood, and tonality of everything come through the way it was meant to.

This is a release that puts you there in the moment, and if you put on headphones and close your eyes, it's an amazing experience.

The release is called The Force of Good and was recently put out by Neuma Records, known for releasing a vast array of minimalist, classical, contemporary, and jazz pieces that outshine and feature performers who can bring pieces of music like this to life.
