Falconeers

Chris Squier of Falconeers describes the band as being on a Rock and Roll evangelical mission. "We asked ourselves - What if we could take the best things we love about our Classic Rock heroes, our years of living on the stage, our incredible longtime friendship, and our absolute love for the genre, mix all of those ingredients together and turn it into something new and exciting? Something that pays tribute to who we are and where we're from, but also takes us farther down that path? We think there's still lots of great things yet to see and experience on that road," he mentions.

This mission culminates in Volume One, a sprawling nineteen-track album. In an era where most artists are focused on releasing singles, it's refreshing to see a band committed to putting out a full-length album packed with content. Falconeers clearly embrace an older rock aesthetic, a choice that might polarize listeners based on their age. Younger audiences might find the music a bit dated, but for those who grew up with classic rock, Volume One feels like a return to the golden age of rock music. I fall into the latter category and found the nostalgia-infused sound quite satisfying.

Volume One broadly fits under the rock umbrella, but there's notable variation throughout the album. The tracks range from ballads and introspective pieces to more energetic, straight-up rock anthems. The band’s tight musicianship and adherence to classic rock structures are evident, but they execute it with a level of precision and enthusiasm that's hard to ignore. Guitar solos are plentiful and well-crafted, and the vocals grow more compelling with each listen. Falconeers might cater to a specific demographic, but they undeniably offer something that many modern artists on the Billboard charts lack. Their dedication to their craft and their genre shines through every track. Volume One is a solid offering that’s worth diving into, especially for fans of classic rock looking for something both familiar and fresh. Great stuff all around.
