Decades Late delivers theme-driven songs shaped by the melodic DNA of ’90s alt-rock, blending analog grit with modern relevance—driven by a seasoned Brooklyn lineup. Their debut LP, Double Appropriation (2024), features songs written in the 1990s, including the alt-rock standout “Straight Through the Heart,.” The EP Urban Grass (Feb 2025) is an acoustic-forward collection inspired by the golden age of vinyl from the mid-1960s through the 1970s The follow-up EP, Second Take (Apr 2025), marked a bold evolution in their sound with muscular grooves and lyrics addressing climate instability, rising autocracy, and eroding civil liberties. Their newest release, The Last Song (Sept 2025), showcases range—from the gritty urgency of “Crush Me” and Britpop-driven “The Waiting Game,” to the indie punch of “Take Me Home Tonight” and the soulful, bittersweet title track. The core lineup includes frontman Andre Delaroche (vocals, rhythm guitar), David Butler (drums – Guster, Lee “Scratch” Perry), and Brett Bass (bass – Gregg Allman, Chris Barron), joined by guitarist Jon LaDeau (National Reserve), whose lead work shines on “Stellar Hopes.” In collaboration with producer-engineer Reed Black of Vinegar Hill Sound, the band delivers a cohesive, dynamic sound. With each release, Decades Late continues to refine a distinct voice—music driven by message, melody, and deep respect for the great musicians of the past.
