A new single release from Chris Milo delivers a bright and character-riddled pop soundscape that feels amazing to listen to you because it's got this open and breezy summer vibe to it that just becomes so addicting so quickly that you never want to let it go.
"Somebody to Love" comes through with this great Soulful undertone along with loads of musical and vocal hooks that bounce around in your head for hours or even days after the song has ended which to me is just smart songwriting because the only way to satiate that is to listen to the song again.
I love how this track comes from such a youthful point of view, but the music and songwriting have this maturity to it which kind of says that maybe this is coming from an old soul.
This song also boasts a theatrical tonality a lot of the time as well especially in that second verse where there's a female vocal that bounces off of his and you start to get a little bit of a picture in your head of what's going on.
This is clearly coming from someone who has a pure love for his craft, and I don't just mean singing, I mean songwriting.
He's able to tell a story in such an excitable and detailed way coming from such a personal space as well and that in itself speaks volumes for him as an artist.
The track has this clean pop vibe, and that energy level is really dynamically balanced so well throughout the entire song so that there's nothing that's too over the top and nothing too subtle.
The track has this sort of alive and breathing feel to it at times as well which makes it all the more alluring and you're able to sort of escape into it for a quick moment in time and get away from your own reality.
You can tell this came from someplace real originally and from there it grew into something a little bit more fantastical and theatrical but all in all it's got heart and it's got persona and that's what counts here.
It is that character that you latch on to and by the time you get halfway through the song you want to see what happens at the end much like watching a film or a show.
This is something you just don't get that often so when you do it's incredibly refreshing.
You can tell there's a lot of detail that went into this track but even throughout all of that it never loses that sort of emotional drive or authenticity it started with.
Chris is the type of artist that you want to be paying attention to because whatever gets released next is also going to be this sort of mini pop opus and it's going to be a little bit outside the box, colorful, and fun just like this song is.
This artist has a way with words to the point where he can be descriptive without being too descriptive so that you can paint pictures in your head while filling in certain gaps on your own.
This is an awesome technique and I think it just comes naturally to him.
I think all of this just comes naturally to him and he's just a young songwriter that has a certain vision and can somehow bring that all to fruition.
A really talented artist and an excellent track well worth your time to say the very least.
