I'm releasing my fifth single - “Laugh Track” - on Friday, April 4th. 'Laugh Track' is an introspective take on self-doubt, identity, and the pressure to perform, blending dark humor with raw vulnerability. Framing my life as a sitcom, I wrestle with the fear of being more of a punchline than a protagonist, questioning whether the laughter around me is “with me or at me.” Through references to The Truman Show and How I Met Your Mother’s Ted Mosby, I try to capture the weight of constant self-awareness, finding solace in flawed TV characters while grappling with the version of myself I no longer want to be. 'Laugh Track' is a deeply relatable exploration of insecurity, perception, and the masks we wear to fit in. I wrote 'Laugh Track' as a way to process the feeling of always being ‘on’ - like I’m performing even when no one’s watching. I’ve always had this weird sense that my life is being observed, like I’m in some kind of TV show where my mistakes are the punchline. This song is me stepping back and asking, ‘Am I in control of my own story, or am I just playing a part?’
