There's a new release that just came out from Nathalie Bonin and Radhika Vekaria, and this is one of the more breathtaking sets of songs I've heard in ages. This is an album's worth of pieces of music that are robustly cinematic, emotionally bound and driven, and have this spiritually ethereal overtone that just draws you in and surrounds you.
The songs on Sacred Echoes are absolutely gorgeous. You can hear such beautifully spacious and flowing arrangements and tones, performances and soundscapes coming through these songs, and how each one of them has a particular story to tell and sets a beautiful mood for you to drink in.
Nathalie Bonin is a Grammy-winning featured artist and composer who also plays violin like you wouldn't believe.
This is not shocking to me, seeing how cinematic and theatrical these songs present themselves.
You can hear this powerful undertone with every one of these songs, and they all come together almost like puzzle pieces, so when you listen to the whole album, it becomes this massive experience. You can really kind of sense the spiritual aesthetic of the entire thing.
As the record unfolds, you also get those beautiful hints of fantastical attributes, as each of these songs also sort of whisks you away to a different place.
For me, that was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the entire thing.
I am a huge fan of film, and these songs really took me to different places in my mind, which I found to be so refreshing.
Being able to soak these songs in and let them set certain tones and moods for me, then letting my mind go free wherever I wanted to, was a beautiful thing.
The songs are intense and lush with character, textural tonalities, and just end up washing you away with everything.
Radhika Vekaria is a Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, pianist, and vocalist. She's also a sensory artist transforming ancient Sanskrit chants into methods of modern healing, and together with Nathalie, they have created something so unique and so embedded that you have to shake it off when it's all over.
This is an album that surrounds you, and if you put on headphones, close your eyes, and just listen to this whole thing in one shot, you will not believe the experience it can give you.
Saying that this is a beautiful record is a complete understatement.
The performance is vocally and instrumentally astounding. There's so much thick emotion involved, and it all comes together to create this particular aesthetic or atmosphere that just swallows you up, but in a good way.
These are so ethereal to me. They're so expansive and have tones that melt together seamlessly somehow.
It's a culturally thriving and robust record that you will definitely have to find your way back to reality when the record's over.
I think that's one of the more beautiful things about albums like this.
It's the way they take you into their world that makes it so special.
You don't always get that kind of thing when you listen to a record. Not all records are meant to do that. Some records are just meant to be heard so that you can put your hands in the air and sing along. This is not one of those. This is a record that you're meant to swim through. It resonates with you.
You can feel this whole thing in your body, soul, and mind. There's a certain peacefulness that the songs bring along with them at times that stays with you even after the record is over.
In my opinion, listening to this record could change a person.
There are a lot of attributes about this release that did actually bring me some strange sense of inner peace. I was transfixed by certain aspects of the performances.
The violin performance and those vocals are incredible together.
I'm so glad that these two found each other and were able to build something this special.
This is a beautifully orchestrated, amazingly performed, graceful, culturally expansive, and cinematic experience that left me completely satisfied in the end.
I have a feeling it will do the same for you.
There's only one way to find that out. Listen to this record, and as I said earlier, listen to the entire thing. Try doing so with headphones on, because it will take you into their amazing, culturally lush, and beautiful world.
