Kelariz Keshavarz Delivers A Warm Performance and Beautiful Tone with Her New Release

A beautiful album release from Kelariz Keshavarz comes through with a wonderful in depth and beautifully constructed set of pieces performed entirely by solo flute, and this is the kind of album that you can really sit and take the time to soak in as the pieces are a little transcending, beautifully performed, and have a certain tonal warmth coming from the instrument that has a way of wrapping itself around you and keeping you in a very particular kind of headspace.
The album is called Meditation-Tomorrow: Solo Flute Music of Alireza Mashayekhi, and it is composed of three different Works, technically.
The first, "Meditation-Tomorrow Op. 156", is an almost haunting piece at times, with sporadic elements and a real depth in terms of performance on the instrument, creating different sounds and breeding certain kinds of textures throughout its course.
This is a bit of a deepening piece of work and showcases a lot of emotion. The range of emotive backbone is really intense throughout this particular piece, and it really does an amazing job of introducing you to the rest of the record, as you're going to be existing within this atmosphere throughout the next set of pieces.
It is a beautiful atmosphere indeed, and a lot of these pieces are able to pull you into their almost mesmerizing Aesthetics, each connecting to the next and with a wonderful depth to boot.
Throughout the following seven movements, you are taking on a bit of a journey that feels very transformative, and that range of emotion doesn't stop at just the first piece. It expands and branches outward, giving you breathtaking intricacies and a lot of passion in those performances.
The set of seven pieces that serves as the second segment on the record is called "Scheherazade's Memories Op. 310" I-VII, and this is something that you will definitely enjoy being sort of swallowed up by.
The dark and light accompaniments are brilliant and each piece takes you for a little bit of that ride, telling some story through the emotion displayed in the performances and writing.
One of the things that really hit hard about this release is the sheer fact that there are segments and elements about some of these pieces that display performance I didn't even know could be done on the instrument. Or at least, I should say, I didn't know the flute could sound like that.
This is a gorgeous instrument in general, and one of my favorites in terms of wind-based instruments as a whole. This set of pieces is soft, but intense, melodically thriving but almost theatrically pushed. A lot is going on in plenty to chew on, and as the record unravels, you end up getting soaked into just the texture of the instrument, but the way it takes your mind for a journey.
Although these pieces are storytelling and connected, when you listen to this record, your mind will be free to take its own path. Part of the beauty of music like this is that it sets certain kinds of moods, and depending on the listener, you might envision certain things in your head as songs unfold, or think of memories of your own, create storylines of your own, either fiction or not, it's all part of experiencing music like this.
It's all incredibly connective.
Some of the works are graceful, and those sort of elegant performances really have natural flows to them, but they're also surprising parts of the record and pieces that sort of stand out and differentiate themselves from the batch.
It's all beautifully done and quite a crisp yet warm sound as a whole.
This is the kind of album you listen to all the way through from start to finish and do it with headphones on because it's one of the best ways to really soak in everything that's happening.
Listening to this record with headphones on your head really puts you in that same space. It lets you take the full journey and experience the record in more depth.
Kelariz has a real love for her instrument and puts a lot into the performances, from the heart to the intricacies.
