A Wonderfully Orchestrated Single from McHale

A new single release from McHale delivers a lush and almost fantastical soundscape that comes with a haunting undertone and beautiful instrumentation that all come together to create something that flows and gives off a genuine and well-orchestrated Americana tonality and it's all done with such a unique character that you end up wanting more.

"Dead Walking Alive" is a very interesting track because lyrically, it does get quite personal, and I think that a lot of the song is actually authentic to an inner struggle and the premise of the track is taken how the listener wants to but delivered with a genuine undertone.

The song features such a robust and vast feel that certainly boasts a cinematic backbone from beginning to end and the performances by all parts are so tasteful and the song is so catchy, that it just stays with you for hours or even days after the song has ended.

The whole thing is beautiful and showcases the group's ability to create music that has layers to it and everything is certainly well thought out in terms of musical arrangement, composition, and lyrics as well but through all of that it never loses that character that it's delivered with in the first place and that may be the most important part of it all.

This has an Americana swing to it with rolling snares and violin that flows throughout the veins of the song, coming in and out, giving it this extra layer of texture and building on that already cinematic feel that it had before.

This track is a bit more than meets the eye and has a beauty to it and an impactful approach that leaves its mark.

This is clearly written and performed by people who have a real love for what they do and although they might be singers, guitar players, or violinists, it's really about the art of crafting a song together and making something that has a depth to it.

There are some surprises around some of the corners of this track and it just speaks volumes for how they're able to naturally create songs together upon listening to the single I wanted to find out a bit more and decided to take a little bit of a deep dive into the back catalog of McHale and I'm glad that I did because I came across several releases ranging from singles to full-length albums, that all shows such incredible creativity and different sides of how this project writes their music.

This is the type of project that you want to keep an eye on because whatever they release next is going to be unique not only to their sound but a forward-moving step in the evolution of how they write their songs and release them.

It's one of my favorite things to find a group that I enjoy and backtrack through their evolution to see how they started off and where they are now.

This is an outstanding project to do that exact thing with.

This was a wonderfully woven single from McHale and between the songwriting, instrumentation, and the way that the song is not just composed but actually orchestrated, it surprised me in the best ways.

Take a listen to this track when you get a chance, and you'll see what I mean about the cinematic backbone, the lush instrumentation, and the brilliant composition of the music.

Everything they have released is well worth your time and more.

I'm going to give this a 9 out of 10 as it is performed with heart and has these wonderful layers that you can peel back the more you listen to the song.
