A recent album release from Los Shadows it's a real deal Latin classic rock sweet spot with this massive record that comes through bursting with character, color and just the right balance of edginess to give the songs a life of their own.
A lot of the tracks on the MOJOMOJO record are incredibly animated and come through with such a unique vibrancy and energy that it feels almost like these were performed live on the floor because of the way that the players seem like they're feeding off of each other's energies the entire time.
There are definitely some experimental layers here, some amazing guitar work, and a lot of these tracks are super danceable because they have such deep-rooted grooves to them.
Even just the guitar tuning alone half the time is so perfected because it's got that electric twang to it that is just tipped with reverb and everything comes together in that same nature to breed this sort of atmosphere that you don't want to leave.
As you dig deeper into the record you get hints of elements of mariachi, and more but really this beautifully laced Latin rock is the heart of this record and it's done in such a way that it's got a huge amount of heart that's just delivered through every single track.
You can clearly tell this is done by a group of people who have a pure love for their craft and when I say that I don't just mean their instruments, I mean their songwriting.
Listening to this record makes you want to see these guys live for sure.
There's a lot of attention to detail throughout the creation of this record but it never loses that soul or that fire that it boasts from beginning to end.
There are definitely some singles that stand out but listening to this record from start to finish I think is the absolute way to soak this in.
I think this was a record that was written as an album so that you can listen to it as an album.
The keys in the drumming on this record are outstanding as well and between each other, they complement the guitar in the vocals nearly perfectly, so everything has this well-rounded but vibrant and character-riddled style to it.
This is quite a beautiful approach and the songs come through very lush and full-bodied.
This is one of my favorite aspects about the record because it comes with all these other wonderful performance attributes and the rhythms are the biggest part of what grabs at you.
I would be keeping my eye out for these guys and if they're playing live, I feel like that would be the sweet spot for this band.
I bet their live performances are just stellar and everyone's just dancing around in the crowd.
Everything about this record was done tastefully and with heart.
Check this record out as soon as you can, and I bet you'll be dancing by the third song.
I'm going to give this an 8 out of 10 without question.
Los Shadows is the real deal.
