A Killer new Single From Pennyhill's Regret

A new single from Pennyhill's Regret it's an addictive and vast alternative rock soundscape that brings together elements of punk undertones and anthemic sonic presence that feels absolutely massive at the choruses and through all of it, the band delivers such an intense character that you get immediately drawn to the song.

"The Reckoning" boasts an incredible guitar tone and this edgy underbelly that hits like a sucker punch to the gut but feels great to listen to.

There's a lot about this that feels like something you would hear on a heavy rock radio station in the late 90s to early 2000s in a way and I think that has to do with the certain tones that they use along with how they do their crew vocals on the track.

The whole single feels like a rock soiree that you're supposed to get up put your fists in the air and sing along with.

This is a feeling that I've missed in heavy rock music for some time so to have it now is incredibly refreshing.

There is definitely a lot of attention to detail going on with this song along with some layers that can be peeled back but through it all it never loses that character or that persona.

This is the track that means something to somebody so it's got heart behind it as well and is done by a group of people that have a pure love for their craft and I don't just mean their instruments, I mean creating songs together.

This track is cinematic, impactful, has power behind it, and balances that color and that edginess incredibly well.

One of the things that got me so attached to this track is the energy because that in itself feels almost like a live performance, although, there's a lot of tracks going on so it's obviously not.

But it feels like one. It feels like a track that was recorded live on the floor and then added to afterward with some extra stuff.

This is because that energy feels like the players are feeding off of each other the entire time and that is something that gives the track a real alive and breathing type of feel.

This was a massive single and certainly showcased a band that has incredible and youthful energy but knows how to write a single that stays bouncing around in your head for hours or even days after the song has ended.

Upon listening to this track, I had no choice but to go through the back catalog of Pennyhill's Regret on Spotify and what I did I was delightfully surprised at the number of singles dropped since 2021 each with its own vibe and each showcasing a little bit of a different side to the band's approach.

This was fun because I'm now a fan of the band so to be able to listen to their evolution over the past few years is very exciting.

I would be keeping my eye out for anything else coming from this band in the coming months because it's going to be good and if you like the single, you're going to like a lot of the other stuff they've released before so I said just going to check that stuff out too,

I'm giving this track an 8 out of 10 easy.

This is a band that carries with them the essence of their influences and it comes through the way it was meant to.
