A Classic Pop Single From slObird

A new single release from slObird brings out a colorful yet slightly edgy and vintage-laced pop soundscape that feels authentic, using synths and keys that help the track combine classic and new school feels together so that everything has a very unique atmosphere.

"Kiss Me on the Heart" certainly feels like it comes from a real place and the song has a lush and colorful approach that blends textures and gives everything a perfect balance.

One of my favorite things about this track is the energy that it boasts because it comes with a persona or character I should say, and this is something that you end up getting attached to pretty quickly.

This song does an amazing job of nailing that almost late '80s or early '90s pop aesthetic and in doing so it lets the song feel nostalgic in certain ways.

The beat in combination with guitars and keys all really give off a full body sort of sound but it's never over the top and it's never too much.

Everything has that dynamic balance to it like I mentioned earlier, and you can tell that this is created by a person or people that have a real love for the craft of songwriting and producing.

There was certainly some attention to detail during the creation of this track, but it never loses that sort of character or heart that it started from in the first place.

There's something about this track that also feels cinematic to me like you could definitely see it in the scene of a film or a TV show for example.

Has the track plays on it has a tendency to grow and you hear some edits string synths and more so that the song almost swells and sways the more you listen.

I love that approach because it's a building arrangement that becomes lusher the further in you go.

This approach in general is also pretty cinematic and I think that takes a lot of thought process to be able to pull off properly.

This song comes off as a radio single to me and in a certain way it feels like it could have been released anywhere from 1985 through now which is something I envy because being able to release something that has an almost Timeless undertone or one that can span decades for example, is really impressive and certainly not easy to pull off.

The song has some charm, and really works well in terms of having a hook and a chorus that bounces around in your head for hours or even days after the song has ended.

This is also very smart because the only way to satiate that is to listen to song again.

That's what a single is all about and this one showcased a great songwriting approach.

Upon listening to the single I went back to Spotify and checked out a few other releases from slObird and I found that the other two singles released are also very colorfully pop oriented and a little bit outside the box, so this tends to be the staple signature sound of this artist.

I can tell you right now that if you like one track, you're going to like the others as well so I would suggest checking them all out.

I'm going to give this an 8 out of 10.
