A recent single release from Miss Mandy & The Somethings delivers a cinematic and impactful approach with a chorus that feels intense and emotionally driven as the song goes through a very personal and honest feel and it's that character that is displayed on this track that sticks with you and gets you attached.
"Sunshine" certainly runs the gambit of sways and swells giving the song This alive and breathing sort of feeling and the whole thing feels incredibly relatable, and you immediately get the feeling that this certainly came from someplace real which makes the song all the more authentic and genuine.
One of the things I love the most about this track is the massive vastness that it delivers and its undertone because on the Forefront it's a beautiful song and the deliveries of all the instruments and vocals are spot on and have passion behind them but behind all that, there is this deepening vastness that it displays and I think that's part of what gives it that cinematic backbone I spoke of earlier.
There is this subtle intensity that happens throughout this song and that grows up until that last chorus which sticks in your head for hours or even days after the song has ended which for me is just smart songwriting because the only way to say she ate that is to listen to it again.
However, I think for Miss Mandy, it's just naturally the way she writes and the band behind her brings the songs to fruition and gives them such a robust and full-bodied feel so that it becomes more of an experience than a song.
And there was certainly attention to detail during the creation of this track, but it never loses that persona or emotional drive it began with in the first place.
As I said earlier, it actually grows and builds up to a more intense and lusher feel as you get into the song.
This is the kind of track that speaks volumes for an artist and displays such a huge presence that you're just unable to look away from it.
You can tell this comes from a group of people that have a real love for their craft and I don't just mean the instruments that they're playing, I mean the craft of actually writing songs and bring them to fruition so that they become impactful.
And this track does indeed have an impact.
A song like this can cause memories of your own to pop into your head at random and that to me says a lot because songs that make you think, or feel are what we need more of in music today.
This was a gracefully performed song by all parts and the aesthetic it was going for was completely nailed.
For me, the song gets an 8 out of 10 hands down and if you like songs that make you feel something, then this is exactly for you.
