A Beautiful Single From Beth Miller and Joe Haynes

A gorgeous new single from Beth Miller and Joe Haynes brings back something that I feel is almost like a lost art form in a way which is a classic jazz piece and duet that comes through feeling like winter in New York and that aesthetic is not an easy one to capture but these two do it with a charm and character that's undeniable.

"Lost My Spirit" is a piano-based jazz ballad that feels completely classic and immediately brings up nostalgic feelings for myself but even in the song itself there is Nostalgia mentioned and there are so many elements to this song that have ways of wrapping themselves around you and triggering memories of your own to pop into your head.

This is not something you come across often so when you do it's incredibly refreshing and you know you have some artists here that are on to something very special, and I certainly hope they do more together in the near future.

One of the things I love about this is that persona that's delivered because this is the kind of thing that you get attached to throughout the song and it never ends from start to finish so you get such an impactful piece of music because of how the pianos played and because of how the vocals are portrayed and delivered.

This whole thing was very well woven and beautifully performed to the point where it feels completely live.

And, this might have been recorded live on the floor for all I know because that energy captured on the recording certainly feels like a live performance to me, and if it's not they didn't outstanding job of giving that feeling.

One of the things that pulls you into this song is the fact that it comes from some place genuine which makes the song all the more authentic.

The release feels like a chapter in the life of somebody and to an extent it's so incredibly relatable and between the pianos and the vocals just having this beaming harmonious texture, along with subtle horn sections that come in and out, it all comes together so smoothly.

This track certainly leaves its mark and hits all the sweet spots that you could want out of a song of this nature but it also has that character and that charm like I mentioned earlier and those are the things that stick with you the most.

A lot about the song is graceful, has color and life, and gives off the feeling of passion and realness that all sticks with you.

This was an outstanding single delivered by two artists that are youthful old souls and there's something to be said about that.

But don't just take it from me, listen to this track for yourself and you'll see exactly what I mean.

I'm giving this a 9 out of 10 straight up.

I think you might too.
