If you're not too familiar with the sounds of Will Camos then let us be among the first to introduce you, as the artist has recently dropped a new single that comes through with such a refreshing approach and a breezy sort of soundscape that comes from a place of honesty and gives the release and the artist both a load of personality.
"Ain't Coming Home" breeds such a beautiful and honest approach, but it also has a very spirited one as well, and that is part of the character behind the song.
This is a bright pop-rock single that has a wonderful slew of influences that the artist has been listening to for years on end, and a lot of those show face in this track.
I, for one, can certainly hear a lot of classic rock coming through, but it also has elements of Americana with an almost southern-kissed undertone, and has that vivacious attitude and pop-rock approach that lets it deliver all this color.
It is a very flavorful song. The guitar performances are awesome and have a freeing sensation to them, although everything is super tight in terms of the performance itself, the chord progression, and the whole attitude of the song just has that freeing tonality.
There's also a great energy all around, and I think this is part of why the song has an impact.
The energy feels almost like that of a live performance. I dig this because when you listen to this on record, you know it's going to be fun to see live, on a stage.
There's never a downturn throughout the entire track, and you end up feeding into this vibrancy and aesthetic that the whole thing gives to you because it feels good.
This is a song about following your dreams and not giving up.
The track does an excellent job of displaying that optimistic attitude that gets you places in the long run.
For will, this is his exclamation. He's going for it all, so don't expect him to come home anytime soon.
I feel like that's really what this track is about.
Some of the southern or Americana feels come from the overlaying electric guitar riffs that come in and out, and those, in particular have some outstanding performances because they have soul to give.
This hit me pretty well, and I love that there are guitar hooks in this track.
Having a musical hook along with a great chorus, is something I have felt has been missing from music of all kinds for quite some time.
You always have this impactful and big chorus, which this song certainly does, but it also delivers that guitar hook, which becomes part of the song's essence as well.
A lot of classic rock and some country always deliver hooks like that, so I was happy to hear one in this type of song because it fit in perfectly.
You can tell there was a lot of attention to the arrangement because it has a beautiful forward-moving flow, but it never loses that heart or personality it starts with in the first place, which may be the most important aspect of the entire thing.
You can catch that spirited vibe from a mile away. It's a song that you want to hold on to because it feels so good to agree with it or understand it, relate to it, or connect with it.
The song boasts some of the best parts of bright, pop-rock music, again, with that hint of southern tonality in its veins showing face and giving it the little push of extra soul.
It's great to hear an artist put so much of himself into the music and still have it be so refreshing.
What an amazing blend of styles, genres, and influences all coming together to create this robust and super fun track that gives its own atmosphere.
Will Camos is an artist I will be paying attention to from here on out, and if you take a listen to this track, you probably will be too.
