The genre-bending soundscapes of Laptop

If you're not too familiar with Laptop, then let us get you into it because a few singles and videos have recently dropped that really showcase how the band can bend genres and still keep things catchy with loads of melodic hooks, poppy and bright overtones, and a warm and welcoming sort of soundscape.

One of the most recently released singles is called 'Additional Animals", and this is one of the best ones you can hear to date. This is a track that provides a lot of that vibrancy, color, beautiful energy, and loads of those hooks.

Throughout the process, the band has no problem going from indie-pop to pop rock, bringing in lush instrumentation and thinking outside the box.

This is a single that speaks volumes for the band and keeps to this beautifully pop-coated approach that feels almost like nothing you've quite heard before.

One of the things I love most about the single is the crowd-style vocals that are double or triple tracked at least, so that you have this robust and thick wall of texture and sound coming in vocally, and this gets you hooked into that melody.

This was an excellent track, and it comes with quite a wonderful music video as well.

The music video is colorful and bright, just like the track itself is and showcases and character on screen, which is pretty damn cool if you ask me.

I would definitely dive right into this one as soon as you can and check out some more from Laptop as well.
