From Press Release:
The Foes of Fern began after Fern's other bands had ended.
" I had played in a few bands where I loved the music and the people, but we were such a closed nit union that if one band member could not make a gig then the band could not perform. This also meant that if one band member wanted to move on from the project then the project died. I wanted a project where as long as I wanted the art to continue then the show would always go on. This has created a group where there have been around 40 people in the last 8 years that I consider to be a "Foe," says Fern.
Based out of Asbury Park NJ, the group is built with an eclectic and colorful group of friends who each add a unique flavor to the entourage and its musical paths, but all do so with no boundaries or set rules, breaking the mold of what many would consider a band.
"The sound evolves because the people evolve. The Foes have always been a multi-layered sound. The evolution comes with different musicians being a part of different phases. I love that we capture people's personalities through their instruments. So, you can feel a difference when Owen is drumming or Andrew or Kay. Same goes with our piano players, horn players, bassists, and singers," says Fern of how the band evolves and as you can see, it all comes down to the people.
Referred to as "Soulful Multilayered Organic Indie Folk Rock”, The Foes of Fern deliver a fresh and vibrant sound by marrying drums, bass, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and more.
The album was released under Telegraph Hill Records which was founded by the band's producer Joe Pomarico and the band has been working with the label since its founding. Telegraph has a big Asbury Park footprint, and the band is proud to be associated with the Telegraph brand and the other bands that put out music with the label.
The Rerun album is available on all major outlets for streaming and download and the band is always getting the party stated by performing live somewhere.
