Beau Lucas just released a wonderfully woven, bright and vibrant folk-rock single that has a way of warming your heart and making you feel good as soulful choruses roll on and guitars have a perfect twang to them that helps drive the song.
"Good Friends and Good Times" is a beautiful song and really boasts this sort of radio friendly light rock undertone that has a way of wrapping itself around you like a hug from a loved one.
The release makes you feel like you can do anything and that you should probably just do it now.
That chorus has a way of really getting embedded in your brain and the track never loses that uplifting vibe that drives it in the first place.
It's actually quite refreshing to hear a track that really portrays something like this.
Appreciation of good friends and good times is very important, and life can sometimes bring us down to the point where we forget about those things.
Sometimes we want to be able to express that love we have for the good times but don't really know how.
This is where artist like Beau come in. To remind us, to show us and to let us know that others can feel what we feel.
This was an outstanding track and with the release of it, we wanted to have a sit down with Beau to find out where this came from and what may be next for him.
RAG: Okay so let's start with " Good Friends and Good Times". This track had a vibrant folk-rock style to it and felt great to listen to! Where did this single come from?
I spend many great times with loved ones swimming and playing in the rivers of North Carolina. It is a great time to bond with humankind and nature. I especially love these times with someone who I am very fond of, and with the love of my life, my Bulldog Skeeter! There is also a small waterfall and rushing water where we swim and play. I love to fish and I catch trout all the time there! We can see incredible views of the mountains from the river, making it such a beautiful experience for the eyes and for the soul. Whether humans are at a beach, a friend's backyard, or driving down the coast, nothing can beat the joy and love we share when good friends are by our side!
RAG: I'm hearing some great styles on this release. Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Foo Fighters, REM and James Taylor
RAG: how did this all begin for you really? When did you fall in love with making music?
Good Story…I have always been a singer but couldn’t write. I gave up singing because I didn’t like doing cover songs. Then 2 years ago I had a bad ATV accident and sustained serious head injuries. After a year of healing, I realized a portal had been opened and now the words pour out of me. My Father played multiple instruments so it's been in my blood since I was little - playing with him.
RAG: What's next for you as an artist?
I will be putting together a top notch Indie band.
RAG: What inspires you to write a song?
It can an interaction I see between two people, something I see in a movie, or a sound that gives me an idea/basis for a melody.
RAG: What are you doing when you're NOT working on music?
Father to my 4-legged daughter, and I dabble in real estate
RAG: Who are you listening to right now?
Wand, Wooden Shjips, Heaters, Osees
RAG: Are you doing live performances?
I have only done a few. More coming soon!
RAG: This single seems like a big undertaking. What kind of advice might you have for other up and coming artists out there?
Go with what your heart and thoughts tell you. Do what you love and Spirit will do the rest!
RAG: Before we go, what would you like to say to fans of the music?
Very grateful for all their support and the beautiful words.
