Shovelbelt brings a vast and mighty desert rock sound with their new single "Memories in Stone". The single boasts quite a classic hard rock influence complete with a southern rock undertone with piano and slide guitars to bring in that cinematic feel. This track has a lot of life to it and feels like a scene in a western film as it manages to paint such visuals with the music alone is outstanding. Guitars are thick and the tracks heavy handed rhythm and drums work perfectly with the vocals doubled and melodically driven. This song has some great attitude and feels thick with character. Those harder rocking influences are there too hidden just beneath the surface and do get unleashed from time to time but they keep things at perfect pace and really incorporate some smart instrumentation and layering.
