A fresh new single from Quinton Moore delivers a gorgeous blend of classic and new-school soul and pop with an amazing set of instrumentation and powerful vocals that ooze with that same soul, and it all comes together with a smooth and flowing undertone that pulls you right in.
This is the kind of single that makes you think of classic and vintage soul pop, hits of new jazz, loads of funk just beneath the surface, great time signatures, and the whole thing comes right in with its massive hook, which is such a smart move because that's really what reaches out and grabs you first thing.
I find it really smart when an artist comes in with a hook like that. It rarely happens, but when it does, you kind of just get slapped right in the face with it, and you can't look away from that. Once that happens, you're just hooked, and this is a hell of a hook to say the very least.
"Kiss Your Lips" absolutely comes in swinging, and he doesn't hold back with those vocals either. As soon as that first hook comes in, he's belting out, and you're reeled right in, not just because of the hook but because of that powerful performance. He's an absolute vocal powerhouse, and he really lets it all out, somehow being right in your face, but also so smooth and silky at the same time.
You have plucky guitars with some lead stuff just flowing in the background of the track, adding a bit more depth, live percussion just adding to the little bit of drive, but really controlling the flow of the song itself, and this completely unstoppable energy.
This, I feel, is the biggest and strongest aspect of the song. The energy.
The energy he puts out there is so infectious, and again, right from the get-go, you receive this energy.
So, you have a track that doesn't waste any time, has that smooth soul pop approach with a half vintage and half fresh nuanced tonalities that are blended seamlessly by the way, and these robust vocals that can grab your attention from across the room.
You can tell that Quentin had a blast with this track because he really lets it all out. This is one of those songs that you hear on record and immediately want to go see it performed live.
He's got that energy on record nailed down so well that you just want to see what it's like in a live performance setting.
He's able to capture that and vivacious approach on record incredibly, and it's really the vocals that end up driving the whole thing.
Now, this is arranged very well; the production is spot on because it's crisp, but it's also lush, and it has a very full-bodied feel because of all the instrumentation going on, creating layers of textures, making things feel big.
Nothing's bigger than those vocals, though.
He is certainly not afraid to show that vocal range either. He's got a great range, and every note that comes out of this guy's mouth is passionate, has heart, and just creates this Allure that makes you want more and more of it.
The track comes with an awesome music video as well, which features him doing his thing, and the visual is excellent simply because it's got an animated background, but throughout it all, you have Quentin himself on the Forefront, performing.
This gives you a sense of his presence as an artist as well, and that also adds to the whole live performance Aesthetic that puts you right there in the moment, with the song.Â
This was intense, colorful, smooth, gorgeous, powerful, charismatic, vibrant, and completely addictive from beginning to end.
Smart Arrangements and again, delivering that hook right off the bat makes the track an undeniable single. You can't turn it off.
It's also got a hell of a groove, obviously. It grooves hard and really makes you want to move. It takes control of your body, and you just start swaying with the music.
There are a lot of different kinds of power that this song holds. I definitely dig that you can hear some of those vintage soul and R&B influences in his performance here.
I would love to even see a video of him recording this track in the studio.
You just know it's going to be a big performance to watch in session.
Either way, this is a heavy hitter and holds very little back in the way of performance, range, or intensity, so I suggest you check this out right now.
We've taken the liberty of embedding the video below so you can take all of that in because again, it's very charismatic, he's got a lot to offer in terms of his presence as a performer and an artist, and watching the video gives you all of that along with the music.
Check this out now, and be ready to get pulled into the groove.
