Linda Marks Has A Heartfelt New Single
If you are looking for a song to give you the warm and fuzzies, make you feel good, and remind you about that certain spark you have with someone, then I have just the thing for you. The latest single release from Linda Marks is a sort of soft rock and contemporary blend that brings out such a wonderfully gentle approach instrumentally but a wonderfully strong message that speaks volumes for the artist, as she really puts herself out there and gets slightly vulnerable, but without fear.
"I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" serves up a bit of a piano driven Ballad of sorts that feels like it's certainly came from a genuine place.
You can tell right off the bat that Linda is someone that pulls from life experience and puts that experience into her music. This single is an absolutely perfect example of exactly that.
Not only does this track feature some strings and sort of orchestrated backbone, but it has that smooth jazz influence at times along with some pop that she saves up for the chorus so that you have something catchy and very memorable.
One of the things that really helps the song have such an impact is the way she puts her words and lyrics. She doesn't hold much back as I mentioned earlier, she's quite unafraid throughout this single, which is quite refreshing, in a way.
The way she words her lyrics is almost like you're sitting in front of someone or reading a letter from somebody. You can't really miss a beat.
She is talking to someone she wants to see again.
She is excited and thinking about that person, wanting to be around them once more.
The verses are very cut and dry which I also enjoyed, because again, she's not hiding behind anything. She's letting you know exactly how she feels right out in the open.
The verses are those sections that feel like she's talking directly to you.
The choruses are bigger with vocal harmonies and some thick laid hooks that stick with you long after the song has ended.
This song is brimming with some outstanding instrumentation and performances, including guitar, piano, and saxophone which really adds that Jazzy element.
Another cool aspect about this track is that she's coming from a place of experience. She mentions that she's played this game before and even though there is a little bit of fear in terms of how it might not end the way she wanted to, she's still going for it.
I think that's kind of part of the message as well. Just going for it. Not being afraid to fail or be rejected. Going with your gut or, going with your heart I should say.
It is a very heartfelt song and her vocal performance is outstanding. She's got a very elegant voice and her performance is completely graceful all the way through.
She never falls out of that essence or loses place. She's on the ball the entire time and giving you something that comes from her heart and still keeping in mind all the little details in terms of arrangement and composition, making sure that the song has catchiness and works on all these different levels.
The orchestration sections are great, bringing loads of different strings and hinting at this sort of '70s feel at times, which I also got a little nostalgic about.
One of the other things that felt good about this track is that it did actually feel almost like a song that was written in the mid to late seventies and was a big radio hit.
Those strings really pushed that aspect for me. They're very 70s orchestrated strings.
This was a terrific tune. It felt great to listen to and it makes you want to go and be with your loved one.
