A brand-new release from LACES is quite a powerful one as the artist holds very little back in the way of letting her presence shine and her spirit thrive.
"Open for Business" is a track that speaks a lot of truths and does so in a way that you can relate to it, even if it's just the sentiment of it all that hits you.
This is a very impactful song, and the way it's built grows into a cinematic-pop opus that indeed shows that spirit rising from any kind of ashes that you can think of, and this is important because it's part of the premise and meaning behind the track.
For LACES this was probably quite cathartic, and she has no problem putting all that emotional bounty out there for all to see in here because she creates songs like this so she can let that out.
To me, this is kind of like a comeback song. She's saying, 'I'm here. I'm open for business, and there isn't too much that can stop me.'
This is why it's relatable. All of us have those kinds of heavy-handed emotions at times. Sometimes, it takes a certain kind of struggle to make that come back and feel more powerful than you did before.
I'm not saying this is exactly how it happened for her, but it certainly feels this way.
Either way, it's clear the artist uses her music as a form of expression so she can let out all the thoughts with a positive or negative in the best way she knows how. Through her music.
Again, it's the track builds that really brings it to life. It grows in its intensity as it does in the emotional concept, so you have such a drive behind it that hits a climactic point towards the end of the track where you have this gigantic chorus and with that you have vast undertones and expansive textures that give the song a lot of depth and again, adds to that cinematic push.
Certain aspects of the song hit me particularly harder. The lyrics are obviously massively important, but I love the way the music is portrayed. You get these bouts of nostalgia listening to it because it feels like it was influenced by classic pop from the late '80s or mid-90s.
Those influences shine through, especially toward the end of the song. But the entire track has this forward-moving drive to it that feels like it's a train coming at you, and that also builds the cinematic value behind it and pushes the emotional intensity I mentioned earlier.
It's all beautifully constructed, and you can tell there's plenty of attention to detail during the creation of the song, but no matter what, it never loses the heart or personality it starts with.
This is its whole importance. Being able to create a musical production that fits the emotion of the track. She can build an impactful and vivacious track that gives you just the right amount of fire and vulnerability.
Think about that mix of elements. Those two things almost clash if you think about it. Bringing a powerful heat, a fire, an intensity that says, 'don't get in my way because I'm here', but also bringing that vulnerable aspect that lets her say what she wants to say so that the right aesthetic and emotion can come out.
It's not just a song about how she's here now, it's a song about how she got here.
It takes a lot of guts and smarts to put a song like this together and have it made perfect sense the way this does.
This was an addictive single from an artist we should all be paying attention to because songs like this showcase her ability to write and release music with layers, heavy-handed messaging, and a sense of empowerment.
These are things good, driving, music should have.
We have to appreciate songs that let us feel or think. This track accomplishes both of those seamlessly.
It's got a perfect attitude, and her vocals bring out most of that sense of empowerment. The way she lays it all out there is incredible and aim to leave a mark.
Check this track out right now, especially if you love music that will impact you.
