King of Cups return with a new single that brings with it an anthemic brightness that comes in the form of a love letter to a special someone, and because the lyrics are laid out so cut and dry, telling a story of someone trying to find solid ground, but in the process finds love, it's very easy to connect with everything about this track.

If you're not familiar with King of Cups, then this is an amazing song to dive right with. It showcases some of the best staples the band portrays, including combining this edgy alternative rock with elements of pop-punk in its underbelly.

That balance is done incredibly well throughout this song. It's such an emotionally backed single that you find memories of your own sort of popping into your head at random throughout it.

This is what I mean by connecting with it. It's a story that's told from a personal perspective and takes you through the whole process of finding someone new in a relationship, having that impact, feeling that love, and then living out a life with that person.

The song mentions how that significant other makes a house a home, and how the nurturing that is given throughout this process drives him.

It's all quite beautiful, and I love how it's put into terms we can all understand, and delivered with that robust sort of heavy rock approach.

The guitar tone is amazing throughout this track. The riffs are crunchy and big when they come to those choruses. The open core progressions during the chorus make things sound sonically massive, and the vocals follow suit.

You can certainly hear a slew of influences coming into play throughout this track, and a lot of them have that pop overcoat but aren't afraid to get heavy or edgy.

The way they put together the guitars across this track is pretty awesome. There are different layers of guitar tracks going on throughout the entire thing.

During some of the verses, there are clean guitars that sort of float in the background and give a depth and sort of atmosphere to the track, while during the bigger sections, there's an overlapping guitar performing a melody that is very reminiscent of classic pop-punk, as it unfolds.

You can tell there was a lot of attention to detail when it comes to the tones of their instruments and how the song was actually arranged.

The drums are absolutely slamming and give some great time signatures just before the course has come in to help build that big impact, which completely works.

The whole thing just has a sort of powerhouse energy to it. There is a big overall soundscape to this that pulls you in.

The energy levels are also balanced with the emotion of the track. During that chorus, it gets really big and heavy-handed, powerful and impactful. The chorus is all about how that person is his lighthouse, showing him the way home every time.

So the music manages to wrap itself around those lyrics so that the whole song brings up the intensity levels because of the emotions behind it all.

This is great because it's a love song that is a complete banger.

I think we need more songs like this. Songs that are a bit unafraid and kind of vulnerable. It is a song that lets the singer showcase not only emotion in the performance, but also in the lyrics. He's really opening up and letting it all out.

That is what vulnerability is all about when it comes to music. Not having walls built around what you're singing about, which this does perfectly.

Now, this, as I mentioned earlier, is a great introduction to the music of King of Cups.

If you dig this track,  you should absolutely check out some other releases from this year like "Waited" and "Watch The World Burn", as each presents some of those great staples I mentioned before and also showcases some cinematic undertone, along with this thriving energy and the way they build songs.

It's all very well put together, and if you dig one track, you're really going to like a lot of the other ones.

They even have a new holiday track called "Naughty List All Year", and this one definitely thrives more on punk than anything else. It's a boisterous single that delivers a unique brand of holiday spirit in its own way.

As I said, there's plenty to dive into when it comes to this band so check it all out now so you can hear exactly what I'm talking about.
