"Jonivan Jones is a musician and performing songwriter with roots in Arkansas and a few in South Texas, blending South Pacific travels, Twang, and Psychedelic sounds with old Folk, Blues, and campfire songs. His style fuses Traditional Folk, Early Western, and Delta Blues, creating a unique yet familiar sound that resonates with audiences. With a musical journey that began some 20 years ago on a hand-me-down guitar and evolved through years of experimentation, live performances are a rich tapestry of homemade foot drums, dropped C# tunings, and the warm tones of an antiquated reverberated amp. Whether performing solo or in previously in small ensembles under the name "animalsound," his music reflects the raw beauty of life's trials and explorations. Living a transient lifestyle for work from the age of 19, he devoted the years of traveling to experimenting with the different sounds and styles encountered along the way. The musical style can also be characterized by its ragged lilts and reverence to DIY spirits. Live performances are a stirred-up framework of genres, creating a unique but familiar sound.
