This western Sydney artist's folk inspired singer-songwriter tunes are the soundtrack of small town adolescence, with prior releases ‘Wednesday Now’ and ‘Labyrinth’ solidifying her lyrical aptitude and self-produced style. Harking from small town Australia, Jean Elliot sings about the suffocation of the hometown rumour mill, and airs the dirty laundry of its regulars. Her music longs for the dirt road out of town and asks that you'll follow her down it. Her newest song duology entitled ‘Something Is Rotting’ is a scathing but vulnerable entry into her catalogue of wistful tracks. Leading track ‘Double Edged Sword’ is sharp to the point and cuts you deep, with Elliot spilling her guts on the nature of fortunate heartbreak. 'White Marquee' muses on the inevitable, shame that grows like mould, and the complicated feeling of watching someone get what they deserve.
