Artistry, penmanship, and creativity is always the goal for J’mall when he’s creating a song or project. From Birmingham, AL, he may not sound like your typical southern artist. Although his influences did include artists such as Andre 3000 & Big Boi from Outkast, Scarface, Cash Money Records, No Limit Records, 8-Ball & MJG etc., his first Hip-hop album he ever heard from start to ending was Wu-tang Clan’s 36 Chambers. His influences continued to expand to artists such as Nas, Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, The Roots, Jadakiss, Notorious Big, Tupac, Cam’ron and many more of that ilk from that era. His love for music grew from there as he first attempted to craft lyrics himself at only 8 years old.
