Inclement weather Department Delivers a Massive Rock Soiree

A brand-new release from Inclement Weather Department delivers a colorful but edgy brand of pop rock that spins itself into experimental sections, hints of psychedelia, a little bit of greediness where it's needed, and tons of character which is one of the biggest things you get attached to during the playthrough of this record.

The Doomsday album is oozing with guitar hooks left and right and some of those guitar sections are the things that stick in your head just as long as the chorus is due and the only way to satiate that is to go back and listen to those songs again which in my opinion is just great song writing but I think it comes to these guys naturally.

The thing that grabs me about this record is the electric energy that it boasts because it feels like certain parts of songs may have been tracked live on the floor, and the players involved were feeding off of each other's energies the entire time giving it this intensity and fun drive.

Even if I'm wrong about the whole live on the floor thing, you can tell these guys are having a ball and listening to this record makes you want to go see them perform live simply because of this kind of energy is captured on record so well and seeing them live must be awesome.

There are more than a few surprises around the corners of this 11 Track LP, and this was completely refreshing to me because they're releasing rock songs that incorporate everything from indie rock, little touches of grunge, and even Americana comes through at certain times with guitars that are playing the southern kissed riffs with a tone that adds a bit of twang to the soundscape.

Of course, there's also pedal steel on this record, which also lends a hand to that southern tone.

Of course, 80% of these songs are inspired by real deal classic rock and what some of these guys probably grew up listening to or at least heavily influenced by but this is a band with six members, and you can tell that each of them brings a little bit of their own influence to the table making this record a massive and almost expansive one.

A lot of these songs have slightly different approaches, slightly different guitar tones, kinds of riffs, and sometimes even vocal approaches change here and there but, all in all, everything is pop coated so they're addictive, catchy, and danceable a lot of the time as well.

The vocal performance on this record is stellar and does nothing more than add the perfect kind of drive along with layers of melodies on top of the already lush soundscape that you're hearing so the way this band works is that each instrument and each performer has a unique way of complimenting the others.

Be ready for some slightly outside-the-box but still incredibly infectious tracks that deliver as much color as they do edge and loads of those hooks that you again, will end up humming in your head after the record has ended.

The thing about this record is it's built and created by a group of people who have a real love for their craft, and when I say that I don't just mean playing their instruments or singing, I mean writing songs together and putting together this massive opus kind of album that is actually more of an experience than just a record.

That's another thing. These guys released a massive album, which is something that I miss in rock music in general because we live in such a single-based society these days.

The sound, tone, songwriting, and even track listing of this album are a little bit nostalgic for me because I grew up in a time when you would buy a full album even if you just wanted to hear that one song over and over but when you did listen to the whole album, you got an experience, and you we're able to soak in a lot more of that band.

These guys remind me of those times and those kinds of records through and through.

This is 100% the kind of record that you listen to as a whole simply because if you only listen to one or two tracks, then you're not getting the full spectrum of what the album actually has to offer.

This is for actual rock music lovers.

Take a deep dive into Doomsday. Don't be afraid.
