HALF A HEART REMAINING is the solo project of a 41-year-old songwriter from Germany who apparently didn’t have enough friends left to start another real band. So instead, he rotates guest musicians in and out like emotional support NPCs. Raised on late-90s emo, pop punk, and an unhealthy amount of musical theater drama, he previously released moderately successful emo/pop-punk records with the band Indicate Left throughout the 2010s. In 2026, he returned with the debut EP “134 Miles” — a heartbreak-fueled concept record documenting the full lifecycle of a situationship: from the first message to the final emotional game over. The name HALF A HEART REMAINING references that last blinking half-heart in old video games like Zelda — one more hit and the hero is done. Life is, after all, only playable in hardcore mode.
