Cookie Monstera is a Brooklyn-based drag queen, singer-songwriter, and performer who began releasing original music in 2025. After only two years in drag, Cookie found a new creative direction after performing at the iconic Showgirls in Provincetown. Seeing fellow performers sing live sparked the decision to start writing and performing original music. Kicking off their music career with electronic French disco vibes, Cookie Monstera brings club energy, theatricality, and personality into every track. Music is treated as an extension of drag—each release introducing a new mood, character, and performance style that translates seamlessly to the stage. Visuals play a major role in Cookie’s work. They are actively creating music videos with elaborate costuming and bold aesthetics, collaborating with a wide range of talented designers, stylists, filmmakers, and creative artists behind the scenes. These collaborations help shape a cohesive and playful visual world that evolves alongside the music. Never one to stick to a single sound, Cookie Monstera is already expanding beyond disco. A techno-focused EP is next, with more music in the works across country, glam rock, rock, deep house, and beyond. The approach is simple—follow the inspiration and keep it fun.
