Casey Abrams Showcases Chops, Character, and A Love for the Craft with #Jazz

An addictive and animated new record from Casey Abrams manages to refresh classic jazz approaches with this almost outlandishly fun style that brings together classic composition with a colorful and very vivacious energy.
The #Jazz album combines styles both old and new and features some brilliant takes on the genre, but what really reaches out and grabs you about this whole thing is really the character it involves.
Casey seems to really let loose, and in doing so, that persona becomes infectious, and as the record opens up, you want more and more.
This album boasts plenty of humor, for example. You get these glimpses of his personality through aspects like that, and I think this is why the record is so fun in general.
He's perfect at delivering a funny old-time vintage jazz crooner tonality with his voice and does so whenever he feels like it fits best. Those kinds of things are like his calling card or signature.
This is what I mean by character. You don't get records like this much anymore, so it's totally refreshing.
"Pizza Love" is one of the best things I've heard in ages. Lush with piano, acoustic guitar, upright bass, and more, this track features that set of backing vocals that really bring that aesthetic full circle.
He holds nothing back in the way of taking on classics.
One of my favorites on the release is a brilliant cover of "Can't Buy Me Love," which comes through with such a cool feel. I haven't heard a take on this track anywhere near this one. It's in its own universe, and that is really when it clicked for me.
Casey is in his own universe. It's a genius one with a slew of different eras of jazz influence, but there is also loads of pop, rock, and more he brings to the table and terraforms it all somehow.
When you pop on this album, you are stepping into a part of his world; into his mind, and it's a fiercely melodic and smooth one.
"Sing To Me Darling" brings out his more serious, soulful approach and showcases how he is able to change that character with the songs he is performing. He really delivers on songs like this as well. It's impressive how intense and authentic it comes through.
His voice is powerful, and he uses that power when he wants to, but also keeps things lighthearted and a bit carefree because that's more a part of his main personality.
This was incredibly impactful! His natural tone is incredible sometimes.
This just goes to show you that the record has some surprises around its corners.
This is an album you listen to all the way through. Don't skip around, or you might miss the range of emotion and passion, humor, or intensity it all gives off.
The record features some great collaborations and a wide range of performances that have you singing along, laughing, or just being plain old captivated.
This boisterous record was produced by Davy Nathan, who is well known and has collaborated with the likes of artists like Christina Aguilera.
"Soul Out" has a massively danceable vibe to it, and you can hear that robust voice come through with some more soul. He gets deep into the pockets of that rhythm and has a ball.
You can feel the energy he had on this recording, and it just makes you want to go see him perform live in your face.
If ever there was a record that displayed someone's musical roots while also showing plenty of genuine personality, this would be it.
Casey pulls out all the stops and has a damn good time doing it.
It's no wonder he's sold out stages all over the world. Once you listen to the album, you'll hear exactly why that is.
So, dive into this record now and remember, don't skip around. Go from top to bottom. It'll be one of the best half-hours you've spent in ages.
