Betty Moon is stepping back into focus with a new chapter. The longtime alt pop fixture has announced Strangely Beautiful, a six track EP due April 17, marking her first original release since 2021’s Cosmicoma. Leading the return is “Want Me To,” a sleek and charged single that leans into the swagger and sonic identity that made Moon a cult name during the 90s alternative boom.
The track blends rock attitude with glossy electropop and soul influences, landing somewhere between nostalgic and fully modern. It is a reminder of Moon’s ability to shape shift while staying rooted in her signature confidence. Across her career, she has built a reputation not just through releases but through placements in shows like Californication, Dexter, and The Walking Dead, along with a steady global presence across streaming and radio.
Strangely Beautiful finds Moon continuing her fully independent path, a route she cemented after launching her own Evolver Music imprint following early success in Canada and a stint with A&M Records. The new EP reportedly leans more introspective, pairing her usual boldness with a more reflective edge as she explores reinvention and longevity. “Want Me To” is out now, with the full project arriving next month.
