Area Resident Releases Protanopia album

Come and join Area Resident for a rock excursion as the new record Protanopia is released everywhere and has a wonderfully toned cross of folk and indie rock sounds.

The full album dips into a variety of rock styles and has a vivacious set of twists and tastes of psych-rock.

"Fentanyl Car" is among the best songs on the release but that is just our opinion.

The album consists of 9 songs, each with something slightly new but with all with a glue that holds it together nicely.

Other notable singles include: "Filthy Bodies" and "Abductor Sound".

The whole record is worth a listen.

PR: Area Resident is the music of multi-instrumentalist Doug Hempstead, an Ottawa-based journalist who records between split shifts as a traffic reporter on the radio. Drawing heavily on events encountered as a journalist, the music deals with strange events, deaths, arrests and phenomena. It's produced by and features Jordon Zadorozny (Blinker The Star). Area Resident typically turns out an album a year. With a series of albums, EP's and singles released, Area Resident has been pushing boundaries for years and creating addictive soundscapes without limit.

Protanopia  serves as a testament to where the sound is at right now and is available for streaming or download on all major outlets.
