A new single release from Mr. Jack delivers a very hard-hitting, edgy alternative rock and metal approach, blending and layering guitars to create a robust, fiery atmosphere built on emotion and drive.
"Never" is a single that doesn't waste much time getting straight to the point. Right off the bat, you have those two guitars, one playing a hook that is reminiscent of classic metal approaches, and underneath that, there is another guitar that is slamming chords and giving you the progression.
So, right off the bat, you have this massive sonic presence that pushes everything forward and gives you a lot of melody along with that edgy overtone.
That hook and progression come right in at the start of the song, so as soon as you begin, you are pulled right in by the riffs and melodies.
As I mentioned earlier, this is a song built on emotion. You can hear in the vocal approach and the lyrics alike that there is a struggle and a bit of loss, and the process of dealing with that is where the song really comes from.
When you listen to the track, lyrically, it can be taken in different ways. One person may interpret it differently from the next.
What I can tell is that it's about a relationship of some sort, and how the heavy-handed frustration and coping with that situation is why this track came to be.
Not only is this massively driving and beckoning classic metal and heavy Rock approaches, but it also lends a hand to elements of punk, and gives you an almost Gothic style underbelly with deep almost brooding style vocals that come through powerfully but also again, very emotionally, letting this entire song Feel unafraid and giving it a closed-fisted, hands in the air, Anthony style chorus.
This is a fierce track. There's a lot of fire behind where it comes from, and that is portrayed a lot in the delivery, not just vocally but from the entire band.
One of the things I love most about this track is the energy level. It is completely infectious and feels almost like some of this was recorded live on the floor, and everyone involved was just feeding off of each other's energies the entire time.
What's crazy is that, even though this gives you an almost live performance energy, it was all recorded by one man.
Mr. Jack is a solo project. Knowing this gives me a crazy appreciation for the attention to detail when it comes to the arrangement, composition, and final overall tonality of this single.
You can tell the artist had a vision in mind, and because it was all done by him, it probably got as close as humanly possible to that original Vision.
Throughout this track, you can hear a slew of influences in heavy rock music, and how he really wanted to make sure the guitars were a heavily driving force behind the soundscape of the song.
There's definitely that emotional backbone, as I said before, but the guitars expressed that as well. Anger seems to be the most present emotion throughout this song. There's a lot of frustration and dealing with struggle, but the guitars and the riffs that are performed really display that almost as much as the vocals do.
Having said that, the vocals are the powerhouse of the song. They cry out and come through with a robust and bountiful approach, again a little dark-edged, and lyrically vulnerable, to an extent.
This is something I really liked, simply because when you have a song like this, you don't always get both ends of that spectrum.
You don't always have a song where it's heavy, edgy, hard-hitting, the guitars have amazing tone and sonic drive, but you also get the emotional leverage of the vocals and lyrics.
You don't always get a metal track that comes from within.
This one certainly does, and this is part of the reason why it left a mark the way it did.
It is very impactful but also memorable.
Those choruses are absolutely huge and again, quite anthemic, which also lets the song pack a punch that you don't expect right from the start.
Those riffs come right in from the beginning, as I mentioned, but the chorus is even bigger than that.
This is a single that managed to deliver a very particular kind of atmosphere, and it's a total banger from start to finish.
The song has layers to it. I love a song that comes through heavy, unafraid, has depth and layers, and leaves an impact the way this one does.
I also have to get into the guitar work in general. Not just the hooks and riffs, but the lead sections that come in before the last chorus.
There is such intricacy in the lead guitar work, but it also has a soul and is attentive to the melodies it wants to deliver and how that will fit like puzzle pieces into the progression of the song.
There's just a ton going on here, and it made me listen to it a few times over just to be able to soak it all in.
After hearing this single, I had to sit down with Mr. Jack to find out where exactly this came from.
I wanted to know how it was done, the musical influences he actually holds close, and what may be coming up next for the artist.
So, while you listen to this track, have a read through of our interview with Mr. Jack below.
Don't miss this.
Let’s talk about “Never”! Where did this song come from?
“Never” was born from anger and frustration toward today’s musical homogenization. It’s a scream against everything fake, overproduced, full of autotune and lacking soul. I wanted to bring back instinct, honesty, and the raw power of rock and heavy metal, without any compromise. It’s a personal statement: I will never bow to trends or to artificial music.
I’m hearing a few different approaches to this single! Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
My influences come from all the genres I love the most: heavy metal, hard rock, and even darker, gothic atmospheres. I grew up listening to artists who built their identity on truth, power, and strong emotional expression, and that’s exactly the spirit I try to carry into my music.
Did you record this at a home setup or at a big studio?
I recorded everything in my personal studio. I played all the instruments, sang all the vocal parts, and took care of the entire mix myself. It’s a completely independent work, created with passion, dedication, and total artistic freedom.
The music video was great! Did it take long to put together, and how much of a hand did you have in directing and editing?
The music video was created together with my wife, Namid, who is a videomaker and photographer. We worked side by side on everything: concept, shooting, directing, editing, and color grading. Working with her is always an incredible creative experience, and together we manage to create powerful and very personal visuals.
How did this all start for you as an artist?
It started when I was very young—rock has always been a fire inside me. Through the years I studied, experimented, and shaped my sound and identity. Music is my life, my language, and my freedom.
Are you performing live right now?
Yes, I bring my project on stage every time I can. The stage is my real home, the place where I can truly share the energy and emotions of my songs.
Now that this is out, what’s next for you?
“Never,” along with my other two singles “Let’s Rock” and “Spirit of Heaven,” will be part of my upcoming album “Destiny and Hope,” coming out next year. A tour will follow the release as well, and I’ll announce the dates very soon. I’m working hard on new music and on the next steps.
Who’s in your headphones right now?
I listen to many different artists—from classic metal to modern bands—but always musicians who put authenticity, emotion, and identity at the center of their sound.
What would you tell people they can expect on this release?
They can expect a raw, direct, honest track. No filters, no compromises. Just pure energy, positive anger, emotion, and real rock.
Before we go, what would you like to express to fans of the music?
I want to say thank you to everyone who listens, supports, and shares my music. Your support means everything to me. I will always give my best and stay true to my artistic vision, with heart and determination.
