The latest album released from American Mile brings out a lush southern rock approach with wailing guitars, thriving sonic drive, and a nearly unstoppable energy.

These guys showcase such a homeland and southern rock approach that has an impactful aesthetic right from the first track, "Get On And Fly", as they deliver a massive and spirited rock approach.

The single features pianos, organs, amazing guitar work, belting and Soulful vocals, walking bass guitar sections, and just an outrageous drummer who delivers such intensity to the track that it feels like everyone else is sort of pushing off of him.

This is an awesome song to introduce the record with because some of these staples will hold true to the rest of the album; however, I do suggest listening to this record all the way through from start to finish because there are more than a few surprises about its corners to say the least.

You have an emotionally backed balance that delivers gospel like vocals in terms of passionate performance, blues undertones, and again, loads of that soul.

Tracks like "Waiting On Sunday" serve as a perfect example of exactly this.

This is a track that's incredibly memorable and has high impact simply because of how it gives you a soundscape that wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to.

You can hear a slew of influences pull together throughout this entire record, and a lot of it has Americana, southern rock, and loads of classic rock all woven together to create something that boasts an epic atmosphere.

The energy level throughout the record is a key element to why this thing comes through the way it does.

A lot of these songs have a particular way of putting you right there in the moment with them and give the air of a live performance, in a sense.

It feels like everyone's right there in the same room, feeding off of each other the entire time, and that's part of why the songs give off such intense synergism.

This is one more soulful rock album I've heard in a long time, and for me, it gave me little bouts of nostalgia. Growing up listening to a lot of classic and southern rock, this hit the spot perfectly.

These guys managed to nail the aesthetic amazingly, and for people who love bands like The Black Crowes, for example, this release will hit home.

I cannot extend my love for the guitar work on this record quite enough. There are such amazing performances on that instrument through and through. It is sort of the powerhouse instrument of the record; however, again, everyone in the band does an outstanding job of pulling together this incredible level of musicianship and passion for what they're doing.

This is obviously a band that has a real love for their craft and writing songs together to create something that is super memorable and you can feel in your bones.

This is true to Heart, American, southern rock at its finest.

The album's called American Dream, and again, listening to it all the way through is the only way to go. It is a nine-track record that is about 35 minutes long, so you certainly have the time to do it.

I love this album and how much heart it displayed.

If you were someone who loves honest, Soulful southern rock, then this is a record you absolutely do not want to miss.

I wouldn't skip songs either.

After listening to this record, I wanted to chat with the band about where it came from and what might be coming up next for them, so that's exactly what we did.

So, while you listen to this album, have a read through of our interview with the band below.

Hello American Mile! Let's talk a bit about American Dream first! Where did this album come from?

Joe Perez (Lead Guitarist): American Dream was the follow up to our three singles in 2023. Some of those songs made the cut, but we also added six brand new tracks that were made over that time span. It’s the perfect blend of where we’ve been and where we’re headed.

Do you guys have one main songwriter that comes to the band with songs, or do you generally write songs together?

Dezmond Saunders (Bass Guitarist): The process is different every time, we all write and bring songs to the table, and sometimes we’ll sit down and create together. Aside from working with songwriter Keith Nelson, and a few others here and there, we do a lot of the writing ourselves.

Can you give us some of your biggest musical influences?

Joe: As a band we like Tom Petty, The Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers, and Aerosmith just to name a few.

Are you guys performing live shows right now in support of the release?

Dezmond: Yes we are!! We had our album release at the Gibson showroom and also opened up for the Eli Young Band at House of Blues San Diego!

You've come such a long way as a band! What advice would you have for others out there trying to get heard?

Dezmond: The modern world has completely changed how bands get exposure. You’ve got to know how to play the internet game, keep hitting the stage, and remember that at the end of the day, this is a business as much as it is an art.

Now that this release is out, what's next for the band?

Dezmond: We are going to keep pushing the album and playing shows. We will be moving to Nashville next year!

What would you say is your absolute favorite aspect of doing what you do?

Joe: I think for all of us we do this because we love performing live. We thrive on the stage more than anywhere else.

Who's in all your headphones right now?

Joe: We do a lot of driving with as much as we play, so we have been listening to a little bit of everything!  Jimi Hendrix, Outcast, Kendrick Lamar, Daft Punk, Philip Sayce, and Tyler Childers to name a few.

What would you say people can expect from this record?

Joe: People can expect a powerful mix of southern rock and country soul & honest storytelling, American Dream is us laying it all out there. The highs, the struggles, and everything in between.
