An Emotional New Single From Sophia Wolz

A gorgeous new single release from Sophia Wolz delivers a very impactful and almost theatrical approach that has an element of feeling stripped down as it focuses mostly on piano and vocals, but involves undertones and vastness that create a depth and layers to the track as well.

This is a single that showcases a lot of heavy-handed emotion, and it's portrayed through beautifully performed, soulful vocals, along with some amazing changes into those choruses that really have a bit of a surprising but elegant turn melodically.

"Fusion" can be taken in different ways, but for me, it is a song about love and loss. Having a certain kind of love in your life, getting attached to that, forgetting what you are like without it, and then losing it. Sometimes, when you lose a love like that, you end up finding yourself again and feeling a bit free.

It's quite a heavy sentiment, but it actually makes amazing sense, especially the way she articulates her words.

It's all very poetic and can be descriptive, but in a metaphoric sense at the same time.

When you first hear the changes, it is very impactful. It's such a great melodic turn that it hits you hard, and this is one of my favorite aspects of the entire song and how it was put together.

You can tell there was a lot of attention paid to the arrangement and melodies when it came to this track but the performance is really part of what wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to.

The piano and vocals are completely in line and sync with each other in terms of the energy levels and the intensities.

She hits those keys a little harder during those choruses, along with certain parts of the verses, and her vocals follow suit.

She belts louder, she becomes even more emotional, and the whole song has this beautiful cry out about it that just feels authentic.

This is one of those songs you find yourself sort of picking apart, but at the same time, you also feel like it's a song that was written just for you.

This is clearly an artist who puts pieces of herself in her music, and she does it in such a poetic fashion and a theatrical approach with this song in particular.

The choruses give you super memorable melody hooks, and those have bounce back or call back vocals that echo her between the main lines.

This added another sort of layer to the track that I really enjoyed.

As the song reaches towards the end sections, you start to hear different approaches with the vocals in terms of having background and melodies that float around through the ether of the track and give it a distant and drifting feeling.

This is absolutely a track you end up getting engulfed in, connecting with, and eventually washed away with as well.

Those lyrics are intense, but the music creates the mood that lines up with the lyrics so well that the whole thing is an atmosphere you end up falling into.

I love songs that can deliver a robust atmosphere with this level of genuine emotion because you just don't get it often.

To me, this is very cinematic as well as the way it was put together, the production, and the emotions all give you this sense of cinematic undertone in a way that you can easily hear this track in the scene of a movie or a film.

The whole idea behind this was brilliant, and you definitely have a certain level of vulnerability. Still, you also get the sense that this may have been cathartic for Sophia to write and release.

This is one of the things I found most powerful.

It gives you a persona and a character, in a way. You end up getting attached to that character, and for some of us, we end up relating these lyrics and this song to situations in our own lives.

Again, the description I gave earlier was my interpretation. Others may interpret it differently simply because of how they soak the song in.

This is definitely a song I would suggest listening to with headphones on so you could really take in all of these gorgeous layers and levels of intensity without missing a lyric, and also letting the music surround you.

I think this is a track meant to be swallowed up by.

Definitely take a deep dive into this one as soon as you can and while you're at it, you should check out some of Sophia's other recent releases like "Beauty" from earlier this year.

As you dip through her catalog, you come to find that what I said earlier was completely true. She certainly does give pieces of herself in her songs and her music; however, they showcase different sides of that personality.

So, start with this single and work your way back to her catalog and I'm positive you won't be disappointed whatsoever.
